I was curious to see the kind of value we could get with our picks this year, especially given that Bond seemed content with pick 37 when the rest of the world holds it in great disdain as a trade for Broughton. Listed in order 17, 37, 40.
2004
Andrew McQualter 17
Mark Lecras 37
Travis Cloke 40 (father son I think?)
2005
Darren Pfeiffer
John Anthony
Travis Casserly (Wasn't a bad player but never got past his injuries and was banned for taking a cold and flu tablet before the WAFL gf when Richmond were looking at picking him back up if I remember correctly)
2006
Shaun Hampson
Todd Goldstein
Josh Kennedy (of the Sydney kind)
2007
Harry Taylor
Scott Thompson
Chris Mayne
2008
Sam Blease
Zach Clarke
Mitch Robinson
2009

George Horlin Smith
Luke Parker
2011
Clay Smith
Jack Newnes
Tom Curren
Not terrible value, all in all
If we could Stringer or Shaw first up, then an Obrien and/or Spencer White followed by a decent mid we'll have done well.
Could look at mids and another tall as rookies
Chris - any other KPP's that you think may be taken 37/40?That is good reading indeed.![]()
Apparently there is an anchor inked on it somewhere.Just seen the profile pic of Tim Membrey on the AFL site. I've decided that I am no longer interested in acquiring his services. I question his decision-making based purely on his tatts.
what are people's thoughts about Paperone as our second or third pick?
Shaw, Obrien, White all would be welcome picks, I would add Clurey, and Membrey to the list, even though he is not a true Tall, if he fell to us, something to like about Mellington and Membrey playing together, Membrey could be the next Chapman. My ideal draft would see us taking Mason Shaw at #17, and then another KPF with one of our second round picks. I would rather Spencer White, Tim O'Brien or Brant Colledge. But if they were gone, then I'd be happy enough with Marco Paparone. I'm not his biggest fan, but I feel as though he would be a relatively safe pick in the second round compared to some other KPFs.
