Industry sources believe that if Melbourne are proven guilty of allegations of "tanking" before the commencement of the 2012 AFL Draft, it is understood that they will be stripped of draft selections in this years draft, at the very least.
if that's the case, our first round pick goes down one and 37 and 40 go down two. woo!

He's a decent target up forward and can make a contest, can't ask for much more really. Juding from the way he's rated maybe no Vic clubs will bother taking a look.

Really hope Melbourne get nailed with this tanking stuff, they deserve it.

Couldn't agree more about the Melbourne thing. It sometimes appears that the only human- being on this earth that doesn't believe tanking goes on, is Demetriou.

Not that I rate anything that comes from that online vessel for self-promotion and talking up your new shit, but I would be massively stoked to see Melbs cop a shot in the nuts for their years of dirty tanking ******** antics. Eat some big ones of it happens Melbourne.

Can you imagine the faces of... everyone involved with Melbourne from the coaches, the board, the fans, the media if they lost their picks and Viney was back on the market and went to someone else?

... All this just after they scored the steal of Viney at pick 27.

It'd be a fine day for the AFL. :D

Can't imagine them reversing the Viney thing, can you?

Ironic that they may lose a father son pick through compromising their integrity. That's true Melbourne blood that might go elsewhere. They played themselves.

I doubt it, that'd be like taking the draft picks off them that they've already traded, not the ones they currently have.

I had a thought the other day... When the Adelaide bombshell broke 3-4 days before the end of the trade period, if Adelaide knew exactly what they did wrong all this time and that it had finally been brought out in the open, or rather it was now inevitable that the rest would be uncovered in the following weeks - why wouldn't they have traded all their picks for whatever they could get, like a firesale... Knowing that the AFL would most likely withdraw any draft picks they had remaining for next months draft??

Trade pick 20 for a mint etc, if they (probably) knew that they'd lose it anyway in a few weeks..

AFL has to approve each trade as equitable and of similar value - one of the contributory reasons the Tippett saga gained momentum. Funny rule as there certainly seem to be other lop-sided deals go through - even Broughton's, though we are biased.

I just want to see Schwabby cry

Old CC in the midst of it all. Certainly smells like its getting serious at Melbourne.

They need to punish them, remove what picks they have and send Jesse back here to Perth and make him go into the 2013 draft.

Yeah they won't touch contracted players such as Hogan (but it makes you feel sorry for him if they are going to cop a whack), and if he was in this draft we would not get a look at him anyway.

Viney could be different. He gets taken in the draft proper, with the club only having committed to selecting him. It seems to me at least possible they could lose him.
