Quigley's write up on Horvat does nothing to convince me he would be a good choice. His combination of too slow & too short has been proven over time to not be able to cut it at AFL level. There is a small chance he could be a poor man's Sam Mitchell, and the overwhelming probability is he will be about as effective as someone like Cruize Garlett.

There is no way to know for sure that Shaw won't slide to 37. It sounds more and more like he will be available at 17, and I wouldn't be surprised if we picked someone else. Anyone who isn't picked in the top 15-20 could very easily slide much further. West Coast wouldn't need him, so as far as the home clubs who might be happier to pick him ... I doubt WC will pick him in between our first 2 picks. I think there is a good chance that Shaw will be there at 37.

They won't pick in between our picks cos WC don't enter the draft til after pick 40.

Callum Twomey has mentioned Tim O'Brien for us too

I don't mind that as an option to Shaw. O'Brien seems to get good separation on the lead, takes the ball at its highest point and is very athletic; pretty sure he was up there in most of the Combine speed and agility testing (plus he's an SA lad, so hopefully there's less motivation to sook it up and move home) , so in that instance it's my hope that we go:

17 - O'Brien
37 - White/TSmith/ Colledge
40 - Marsh/McIntosh/Howson

Yep, all KPP's. I know it won't happen, but I can dream.

What about Paperone at 40 he has great agility and excellent work rate for a 194cm KPP.

Would be happy with that.

I'm fairly sure Harrison Marsh will be #1 on our list when it comes to our second round picks.

I hope not..he has one of the worst kicks I have seen at Colts level. Can rarely hit a target consistently. Have no problem giving up Broughton for a developing KPP but he is a poor mans Dylan Roberton...

Can't imagine us taking a poor kick. Some write-ups on him from phantom drafters

Geelong - Harrison Marsh (188cm midfielder - East Fremantle)

I was quite disappointed in Marsh's U18 Championships, not because of his performances but due to the position he played. I think he has the makings of a very good midfielder, he is an excellent size, moves well and is strong in the clearances. But for WA, he played all three of his games as the third tall defender. So he barely won any ball, and while his defensive work was good, I just think he could have done so much more if he was given the opportunity because he is a very nice kick of the ball.

GWS (Via Hawthorn) – Harry Marsh (WA – Def)
Height: 188cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 13/01/1994
Recruited from: East Fremantle
Style: Sam Gilbert
Player comparison:
Range: 45-rookie
Profile: Defender who has is probably more of a 3rd tall at the next level. Marsh is an offensive minded defender with strong marking ability and ability to read it in the back half. Marsh is an above average athlete and has a really nice leap on him. Marsh is also a very solid shut down defender and can do a lock down role when required and do it well. Has very good kicking ability and can easily find his targets up the field. Also has some 1v1 ability so plenty to work with.

Originally had Currie here but looks increasingly likely they may take a mature ruck option as a rookie given Stephenson and Wood have been invited to train. I know who I would pick of those two. Any the final selection for Richmond I think is Harrison Marsh. Medium defender who has also played a fair bit through the middle. Player that I really like and has some similarities to Nathan Wright. He is an aggressive type player who seems to always be involved. He has really good pace but I would be interested to see what his endurance results were as if he could fix that it would give him a lot of positional scope going fwd. Very good kick and will kick through the lines so coupled with his speed he could be your Sean Atley type defender. Really interesting player and think he might just step up quicker than people expect and be quite a good AFL player. Was very tempted by Alex Howson and Ethan Gill here. Havent seen much of Gill but for a few highlights but has his fans.

Why would Brodie Grundy be in our dreams, another raw young basketballer that may one day turn into a ruckman is the last thing we need.
I reckon if Simpson or Garlett are there at 17 we'll take one of them, regardless of which KPP is also still there
