I'd take Garlett with 40...back ourselves to ease the talent out of him. Bit risky before.

I agree out of all the KPP in this years draft he is the safest and most likely to succeed at AFL level.

No? All the talk is of him not being drafted at all. Someone will take a chance in the second round in my opinion, but nobody will go in the first.
He has nothing on Josh Simpson anyway.

Josh Simpson apparently has a one year old daughter living near Geraldton. This article says that AFL club recruiters are only just learning of this and are queuing up to re-interview him. Bit of a spanner in the works.

lol, how long has this been brought to light? Everyone's mock drafts have Garlett going to Collingwood in the 1st rd in one of their 1st 3 picks.

Someone posted earlier that Emma Quayle said on her Twitter account that 10 clubs have emphatically said that they will not draft Garlett.

Being reported apparently Simpson manager has advised only last night prospective clubs he has a 1yo daughter? All of a sudden might be even have a chance to stay in Perth and end in up in Purple!
Edit Yakka just beat me to it... But keep the thing about he is a slim chance to get thought to us at 17!

Got my hopes up for Shaw personally, but White is getting more and more interesting as I read and see more of him.
Interesting asset in Josh Simpson too. Generally the indigenous lads are very one sided due to the ability to weave so well onto the preferred side. Just fantastic though to see a kid like that being so silky on either foot without the need to kick off the outside of the preferred to get out of trouble.
Afraid I'm just not sold on Garlett though - particularly with our glaring need for big bodied kpp's and the fact that we now have dpearce on board already.

Off field issues aside, do you really think Simpson is that far ahead of Garlett? Or offers that much more?
Also, had a tweet to EQ. She believes that most clubs have known about the baby thing for a while.

Definitely. Much better skills, and I think he has a more defined role at AFL level. I think the difference could be as great as Daniel Wells (Simpson) versus Cruize Garlett (Garlett).

Not that I want him at Freo. Simpson offers more.
