Operation get Brodie Grundy initiated?

I'd love us to produce a ruck of our own as our development team is amazing.

Anyway, to be honest i think seaby's rucking was one of the lesser bads of last nights game in comparison to our f50 entries and ball use rebounding from our defensive 50.

This x 100. We need to get Brodie Grundy no matter the cost! Athletic as hell, on the weekend he picked up a lazy 30 touches to go with 49 hitouts. Is an out and out gun.

Cost may be a bit too high to get Grundy but i'd be stoked if we could nab him. Seems very much a midfielders draft which is good as the good KPP players could be within our reach this draft. But definitely Grundy, Stringer, smith and Tanner would be all on our radar. Hopefully one of them slides, that or a midfielder slider. Also wouldnt mind having a crack at the mini draft for martin...

Seaby was smashed by an inform Jacobs but wouldnt mind giving pyke a go.

For this week we really need to suss out our entries and forward pressure. Wouldnt be against giving armstrong a run in the team purely for his disposal as we definitely need it

We need to trade for a top 10 pick so we can fill our needs of another key forward (Mason Shaw or Jake Stringer anyone?) or an athletic ruckman (Brodie Grundy). We get one of them and we are closer to a premiership.

Cheers mods. Been taking more of an interest in draft recent years.

So what we need: KPP and a project ruckman cause our ruck stocks are heavily mumford orientated

So players we should be looking at:

Grundy, Mcbean, Shaw, Jaksch, Smith, Luccon, Corr, Spenser, Stewart, White and Tanner to name a few this early.

Realistically we dont have a huge chance of snaring Grundy, shaw or possibly stewart (maybe f/s of the pies)

McBean would be a very nice pick up same with Jaksch ( swingman but see him more of a kpd). I would love for us to have a crack at the mini draft as martin looks an amazimg prospect and dare i say it, a future goodes replacement.

Would not be adverse to a rookie pick up of Kyle Hartigan. Also have a look at GC list as they are getting close to cut time.

Edit: matt wallis as a spec pick could have some merit

McBean is clearly the 2nd best ruck prospect and if somehow can nab him it would be great. Stringers leg might put off some clubs. Troy Menzel is a smart small forward, brother of Geelongs Daniel but recently had a LARS surgery so that is an area of conern. Dayle Garlett looks a clever, smart, fast, small forward.

But what get's me is why did Joe Daniher pick the Bombers over us? They have heaps of KPP and could struggle for a game early...still beats me to this day.

EDIT: To get Martin we would have to give up our first rounder + a great player...who could we trade?

With all the compo picks we're going to end up with our first pick being in the late teens.

We'll probably stuff up that one and get a gun with pick 44.

Firstly to get martin it would be our first pick and a decent player. Probably in our best 22-25 but definitely worth it.

Also the McBean would be great as he is also a very good forward prospect. Menzel and garlett a no for mine. We need KPP's first and foremost.

The player i can see us realistically getting Jaksch if cards fall our way. Also we'd be nuts not to pick grundy if he fell to our pick.

So GWS hold the mini-draft picks right? I'd be thinking our 1st Rounder + Jed Lamb or Jesse White or both to GWS. Both on the outer but have some value.

For Grundy to fall to our pick would be monumental...he'd have to have the worst form slump during the 18s championships and have a bad injury.

Dreaming. First rounder plus solid 22. Lamb or white or both probably wouldnt get 1st pick. Also depends on other clubs.

Grundy, Stringer and Shaw at this stage are pipe dreams. But i can only dream.

Ilk of our grundy would guarantee first. The thing is we really really don't have anyone to replace or want to trade out to snare the pick. Also depends how they rate pick and what they need. May ask on their board

Without inferring any fault, haven't most of the Ruckmen we have developed, not turned out so well.

Couldn't we wait for another club and to take him, develop him and then poach him and take him to the next level aka Ball, Jolly and Mumford? :D (Jury is out with Spider)

We certainly could but imagine what our rucking coach staff could do if they had a player from the get go
