Forgot Reid ;)

I kind of meant watching teams try to cover 3 players who are all blessed with extreme pace, skill and height. It's hard enough matching up on one of those types of players, let alone 3.

Watching opposition defences contend with a forward line of Reid, Goodard, Goodes and Rohan would also be a joy to watch though.

Can all play lead up forwards too. That would be a scary forward line.

Anyway back to the draft... if we don't trade out our first jaksch or Shaw would be perfect for our needs. If there isn't a decent KPP player best available. Don't want to reach for players in this draft

They had the Underage state carnival going on in Sydney this week, any news from it, anyone up there go? I heard The son of Peter Moore was a standout, 195cm and 100kgs at 16yrs old.. Goddards little cuz was killing it, the one I have wanted and had an eye on for years and we could have got him under the Father/son rule young Daniher(is he still an outside chance?) any news on our academy boys any of them play?

We have 13 in the 25 man NSW/ACT squad. Isaac Heeney has been the standout for NSW and is a Swans Academy plaer.

I looked up Peter Moore and he is a former Collingwood player. Are you just mentioning Peter Moore's son because he is a good player and not because the Swans have any right to him in a future draft?

Sorry for late reply, I meant because he could be a good player, the one who we could get under the father son rule is Daniher. Will go close to number 1.
Im surprised at the lack of posting about this carnival from the good Sydney folk here so keen to grow and support our code in NSW's. No one went, no one from our board even interested it seems, guess the whole 'we love GWS' to support our code, is just more of a big wank thing..

Whats declared mean? Is it possible he can still come to his senses?
It means that because both the Swans and the Bombers are eligible to pick him up under the father-son rule, he had to elect one of the teams (or none at all, you can decline to be picked up under F/S like Marc Murphy so famously did to Brisbane). The Bombers still have to go through the F/S bidding process to formally acquire him, but given that we'll have quite a low first round draft pick, there will be several teams in before us should Essendon do the unthinkable and not match any bid for him.

Thank you makes more sense now, do you know who those several teams before us are?

Actually it's based on the final positions after the finals are completed. Thanks for pointing this out pointdexter.

ORLY?!

Don't really see what need Rivers fills for us (I say tentatively, half expecting someone to bring up Grundy again). Same with Surjan. Good players but I don't see them as really filling a hole that we desperately need to act upon.

Seemingly Reid is a target for us but I don't think we really need to target all that many other players. Obviously we need a key forward to pair with Reid for the future, but mid-term Goodes will do the job nicely. If we don't get Reid, I'd use our first round pick on the best tall forward we can (given we're not reaching too far). Perhaps a young ruckman who isn't getting a chance at an AFL or SANFL/VFL club to develop might be a good idea too. Really we should be looking to improve our stock of talls for the future. Although Lockyer might be able to develop into a tall defender, he sounds like more of a rebounding type. We have an abundance of smalls, runners and midfielders.
