Ben Kennedy was actually the guy most wanted on this board when we started talking about the draft!!!

Absolute gun player. X factor, incredible agility, accurate kick. Kicks goals and makes things happen. If Grundy is gone, I wouldn't mind picking him up at 9. Came into the championships injured and ended up averaging 26.8 possessions a game and made All Australian.

More talent than many that we have been looking at at that point.

Oh this is killing me.....

Yeah doubt very much he lasts to 32. Bit of a pipe dream.

Amazed Kennedy has fallen so far in people's opinions. I would be satisfied with him as a pick one. Grundy for structure and then any of a number of midfielders if he is not available, including Kennedy.

Kennedy wouldn't get past Sydney at 22 in my opinion. I seriously doubt Collingwood doesn't take him if he falls. I expect Gold Coast, GWS or North Melbourne to have a go in the early teens.

So Tigers have 6 picks in the draft now, 9, 32, 34, 43, 88 & 100.

88. Toy
100. Wood

These two are not in the draft and can only be taken in the free agency period starting after the draft. So we would have to pass on the picks and keep spots open. I assume if we are only interested in them as rookies we can take one or both there if we are happy assuming/risking everyone will be looking elsewhere.

Heard this rumour that Collingwood had spoken to Garlett in the last few days. Looks like it is true.

In my opinion, they get a top 5 talent. They are the absolute best in the business, I tell you that.
This is why the FTF is so important. More money to our football dept means more scouts means better chances of picking those diamonds in the rough.

Speaking to a dogs recruiter a month or so back. There were like 4 of him at the dogs compared with 12 at the pies. Just unreal.

Who says money dosent buy you happiness ;)

Lets be honest , No team will take Wood in the draft's - Its either Richmond or bust for him

Toy - teams would certainly be interested in him as a rookie - with melbourne(recycled warehouse) & Western Bulldogs before our pick, He wouldnt get to us for so cheap.

Neither have entered the draft. Only Ben Jacobs (Port Adelaide) and Taylor Hine (Gold Coast) have nominated for the draft as 'recylcled' players.

Nobody said we expect him to replace Maric, however, he would be there to help Vickery in the interim and would be developing for the future. Snagging Maric the way the tigers did is not the Norm. I know the Pies with Jolly and Geelong with Ottens got great rucks but they gave up first round draft picks. Geelong gave us 2. We stuffed them both. Young quality rucks are hard to find. Grundy makes sense... Most likely gone anyway!

I beg to disagree. I think it easier to cover\recruit the ruckman down the track rather than say the quality mid (e.g Essendon) or KPF (Carlton). What if its 2 quality mids u need against that 1 ruckman? There was a reason Geelong & Collingwood gave away such high picks (In Collingwoods case twice). It's because their teams were complete & the ruckman was the final piece in the puzzle. U reckon we couldnt snag say McEvoy in a few yrs when we are top 4 & the saints have dropped right off? Or that young ruckman coming through a Bulldogs or Melb for example after they've spent a few developing him for us (like geelong did with us). We will pay but by then it shouldnt matter as we would be trading away our pick/picks for a flag.
Now try & prize that key fwd or quality mid from another team, when they are probably the respective clubs highest player, being the face of the club & having the weight of the entire fan base as their next savior...
In saying that, If the club believes Grundy be the best available talent then I'll back em in

I would be stoked with

#9 - Grundy/Vlaustin/Menzel (Yes I said Menzel. I reckon we have a somewhat chance)
#32 - Simpson/Kennedy/Garner
#34 - Lonergan/Atkins
#43 - Shane Nelson/Ruckman (if grundy is taken before pick 9)

Josh Toy - Rookie
1 of the american ruckmans - International Rookie

Really only discussed pick 9. Mentioned:
Vlaustin - been linked to Tigers for ages.
Aiden Corr - Been linked in recent days.
Kristian Jacksh? - They said Tigers need a key CHF:confused:

i dont understand this chf stuff. if you keep drafting kpp's you end up with more players than spots. at some point you have to bank on players you've drafted and your ability to develop them.

Apparently Garner is a HUGH tigers fan. Him and his whole family. Would be a tiger for life with his loyalty. Do you reckon its worth picking him up at 9 or hope he falls all the way down to 32?

Jaksch can fair dinkum play. Wouldn't mind him at all.

Also a Tigers fan. This draft's full of them.

still want Mccrae, his superfooty highlights vid was very pendlebury like

unconvinced with a lot of prospects but overall would want Grundy, MCcrae, Vlaustuin in that order

32: Graham

34: Wright

43: Spencer White

Guy on drafts board claims that we are the only club to interview Aliir Aliir. There's a ruckman for us albeit a midget one. 194cm 86kg. Would be a fair rookie list project who would need to become a KPF.

...and then some - geez 194cm ruckman - what's the point? He'd want to possess an almighty leap otherwise we might as well just get Patto back!

Heck, let's draft Sam Newman as a mature aged rookie while we're at it!!

Haha he won't be a ruckman at AFL level. Maybe a 2nd ruck as his leap is just ridiculous. Sudanese kid. Unlike Majak Daw though he is very skinny.

Haha I just edited my post to add that he'd want to have one almighty leap!
