But anyhow, here's hoping this is how it pans out, going by Brett Andersons tweet.

1- Whitfield
2- O'rourke
3- Plowman
4- Toumpas
5- Menzel
6- Stringer
(I highly doubt Menzel and Stringer go at pick 5 and 6 but heres hoping :D )
7- Grundy
8- Jacksh
9- WINES!

Would be stoked with Wines but realistically it will be:

1- Whitfield
2- O'rourke
3- Plowman
4- Toumpas
5- Wines
6- Menzel
7- Grundy
8- Jacksh
9- Vlastuin

It's a WIN-WIN

my argument is basically this- we need a balance of players. this is a bloody important draft for us. the mids go back deep. why not be bold and get something adventurous with pick 9- I see that as menzel and grundy if available. look I would like vlas- he would be good but to me he does not have that excitement just yet- maybe. I love tough hard players they are a teams bread and butter but if there is something special out there and what the hell you call it x factor, z factor pr0n rated whatever get it. wake me up after the draft this all too much for me. ffs tigers get it right this time. we have 4 good picks use them for a nice spread not all one way......

I'm tipping the Dogs do take the risk, also interviewing MacRae suggest they are after mids, I think they will take a 'safe' local option in Mayes.

1. Whitfield.
2. O'Rourke.
3. Plowman
4. Toumpas
5. Menzel
6. Stringer
7. Mayes
8. Jacksh
Leaving us to pounce on Wines.

........This is not wishful thinking

YOU BETTER ****ING BELIEVE IT!

I think Richmond will make a big mistake by overlooking Grundy. He will be a dominant ruck in the AFL for the next decade! He want to hurt people. He can go forward. He has played against men and played well. I would love for him to feeding Cotchin Lids Martin Ellis Grigg Arnott etc for years to come. Premiership sides need quality ruck, we will have the opportunity to get a marquee player but we wont select
I can honestly see RFC regretting not picking up
And to make matters worse, we havent got a first Ruck on our list other than Maric. Vickery and Elton will never be first ruck.
He has talented , huge potential, strong, tuff as nails , rated in the top 4 on talent in the draft!, and fills a need! Will be A+, Matt Rendell rates him top 4 players in the draft

Im hoping for Vlastuin though if we don't get him I'm sure we will pick up another very good youngster. I like Vlastuin is defensive side of his game, he works both ways and does the team things which is what need as well as having good skills and reading of the play making him worthy of a top 10 pick.

Could either Tigerbob or M_R give their opinion on Wines for me. I personally think his good but not worth a top 10 pick, I have question marks on his defensive side of his game and his appears a bit slow with his pace and kicking action.

So the change up at the top might not affect us anyway
no i still think we will pull a surprise and pick JL with pick 9 just what im hearing especially if vlaustin ends up at p[owe

i reckon the dogs will pick wines and menzel leaving stringer to go to cats still think we will end up with loonergan

Every one thinks on here and likes vlas .. So ... That means were not even close to picking him up cause from past years we have been way off...

Last year it was atley ect.
Year before that Heppel ect.

Atley and Heppel were in the same draft as Conca. Everyone knew Ellis a few days out.

Emma Quayle:

He has some work to do, but which draftee doesn’t have skills to hone? He offers far too much and can do too many things to drop him any lower than here. We’ve all been told how high he can jump and how fast he can run, but what I love is how, if the ball is anywhere near him, he will fight to the death to win it, tackling anyone in his way. He is determined to learn and improve, and I think his progress will speed up enormously once he starts working with AFL coaches every day.

Emma's predraft assessment of NicNat. She had Watts ranked #1.

There are no guarantees...

Her draft reflects what she hears from clubs as well. Melbourne weren't shy about their interest in Watts so that is usually taken into account by most phantom drafters.

I have been just been told by my source that we are going to pick someone at no 9 on Thursday...I cant name my source but he is adamant that it will be Thursday and not before. ;)
I didn't see a response quizzing you on this, I take it your source thinks we are not set on a player (Vlastuin) and we will wait to see who is available. Possibilities now could be Wines, Grundy or maybe Lonergan if Vlastuin is gone.

Quick question, is Colqhoun a possibility at 32?

I watched him in the champs and by gosh he was impressive. I'd love him, except we have a plethora of HBF'ers.

Yeah for sure. People in here are questioning Vlastuin at #9. I don't think I've seen this kid mentioned on many top 20's?
Tassie being Div 2 impacts his rating for many.
Quigley has him 8th. Kevin Sheehan "rates him very highly" and thinks "will go early"
Probabably has the best overall combine results.

would be a surprise for sure, personally I wouldn't be unhappy

Div 2 player and the fact nobody seemed to be mentioning him as a potential first rounder until last weekend is what raises my alarm bells.

Always weary of these late mail/last minute types who seemingly come from nowhere.

Last Div 2 was Tambling, correct?
