Big Gus probably helps soften the blow too... o_O
Think they are hoping the AFL take into account the fact the have taken Gus on as punishment. Hell the AFL may give them concession picks next year for doing so :D

If we take Vlastiun ahead of Wines or Grundy we are really going out on a limb. No other club or media expert rates him higher, Placing an undue amount of pressure on a young Vlastuin. I hope RFC does not attempt to be too clever, my preference is Wines then Grundy. Comfortable reversing that order but why are we so clever with Vlastuin, for mine not enough evidence that he can take the step to be an AFL midfielder. We don't need another HBFer..

Quite right, we dont know what other clubs are thinking we may be making the "right" choice in Vlastuin. Extending that thinking I don't know what the RFC really thinks. Personally I have not heard talk of Vlastuin from the club, clearly many have.

My point is more around opposition supporter and the media pressure that will come, and perception often become reality with these things. With our history we don't need to take on that sort of risk we have very good (better in many eyes) alternatives.

I seem to remember a bunch of armchair experts wanting Mitch Grigg last year and how they would spew if we didn't take him. We didn't and now he's been delisted. You can all p*** off. Unless you like Tigs and MR have actualy followed the juniors all year your opinions are worthless.

Some of us have friends and relatives in the junior ranks and get info from them. Combined with comments from guys like Shifter and you have a solid foundation to form an opinion!

Does that make sense?

Did you watch a single Northern Knights game this year?
No, only the highlight clips and what I have read in forums and the media. From this I formed my opinion, and my opinion is the club better be very confident in Vlastuin at pick 9. There are some highly rated alternatives.

When and why was mitch grigg delisted?

Grigg hasn't been delisted.
Oops.
Don't be a tosser. Many are passionate and this is a footy forum

Exactly the reason why it's VITAL to resource the recruiting dep't as well as we have with the FTF money and before ( I think). This time of the year always seems to cause a frenzy and panicked behaviour. So glad our guys have been building up their info files on players for upto 2/3 years, to have well founded ideas/opinions on who the best picks are etc Will definitely back the club simply because they have a much stronger research base coming into the draft. Than at least me and I would imagine most of us too. GO TIGES GET UR MAN ! !:thumbsu:

Well I have formed my opinion of watch Nick play live around 15 games over the past two years and from various discussions with recruiters. If you think taking Vlastuin is a risk then unfortunately, you have it all wrong. Actually, I'd go as far as saying he is probably the safest option of the first round. He is an inside midfielder through and through, I don't know how many times I have to repeat this. This kid thrives on the contest and is a clearance machine. He acquires all the qualities of our recruiting philosophy and he is so highly rated that he was talked up as pick 2 for a proportion of this year. Trust me when I say that if we get Vlastuin, we will have no regrets. (Bar Menzel being available)

I enjoy your insights and respect your views, if we pick Vlastiun he is my sort of player and I will support him to the hilt.
Yes I am an armchair expert and yes I am passionate and very nerviious about tomorrow's draft.

In my opinion the 2012 Draft thread has been the most up to date , knowledgable and commonsense draft thread I have had the pleasure to read in all the years ive been on big footy. About 6 I believe. I would personally like to give

RT
Tigerbob
Tigs &
Martin to Reiwoldt

a massive plug as tomorrow we can all enjoy this night so much more having the insight you guys have provided because you guys have been all over this draft for months now and I dont think the cards will fall too far from where you guys have prodicted they will land.

One last question before the draft , who do you guys think would win out of a fight between Brody Grundy and a Cheese Sandwhich?

Spot on rusty I've had a look at other boards and there is nowhere near the discussion. Yeah some of its crap, mostly my stuff, haha. One more sleep and we can argue till the cows come home whether we made the right choice.

These boys have been all over it and not once did I think they were just reading through old footy records to form an opinion. I was talking to Wangs parking Lot today and we were saying how good it is to have blokes that actually watch these kids and know people in the system to comment on these players with out

a) Bagging the players
b) Being heroes &
C) Having the discipline to not make Dick jokes. ( In saying that I'm pretty sure RT planted that post about Dick there for the more mature guys like me)

Great work

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone. I really do appreciate it. It's been an absolute pleasure to discuss the draft this year with all of you and I look forward for the years to come.

Next year will be more interesting because our first pick will be around 18-22 depending on how many compensation picks Hawthorne get when we get Buddy off them for a Cheese Sandwhich.
