As the day goes on I am getting angrier and angrier at the fact that we will be taking Vlastuin over (most likely) Grundy, Wines and Menzel.

Sooo is Dean Towers the Isaac Smith of this draft? Or not?

I'm more interested in picks 31,33 and 42. With 3 picks within 12 spots I think we can take a "risk" with one of these e.g. Garlett, White. Can't wait

Pic 9 we'll have a gun on our hands but am also excited by our pics 31, 33 and 42 something tells me we'll land some likely types hoping any of Graham, Atkins, Wright, White, McDonough, Lowrie, Temey or Garlett (if still on the board) are picked up would sure be a nice day at the office....

Why the hell dose cooling wood get adeliades pick ?
Huh? Noone was given Adelaide's picks. Adelaide was removed from the daft order, so everyone after each pick naturally moved down one spot.

If wines slides past our pick I think it says more about Melbourne over rating him then anything. As for Grundy his slide looks to be because of clubs are now all working on the theory of picking up ready made when they need one, reminds of a few years ago when athletic types started dropping down the order and pure footballers back up the top. Menzel I think will be because of the concerns on his knees, yes they were impact injuries but LARS is controversial and his brother doing two knees means you have to play the percentages.

Tigger will be a great choice and people thinking its a solid safe choice are missing the way the game is going. Contested possesion and retaining possesion. Mixed with his leadership and professionalism I think he is a great choice!

How is taking the solid Hayes/Hodge type over the flashy Stevie J type (with reportedly dodgy knees) not a percentage play??

I can't understand why people are advocating picks like that as though we've been drafting solid citizens for years. 2 drafts! Conca, Ellis. Who was before that? Oh yeah Dusty!

Fact is, this draft will make or break us. We've got the cream, we need the crop. Vlas is a safe bet, but you want to risk pick 9 on a player with dodgy knees or a broken leg or attitude problems? How is that playing the percentages?

We haven't got enough cream IMO. Menzel would come down to the docs etc.. really. But if they say 80/20 etc.. than you would muliply that with projected output. He looks like a star. I haven't seen Daniel much but I think this one is better from the highlights. He is worth it if he is a Steve J. Thats what you need in a GF to win. I don't like chasing inside mids against this basket. If up against Kennedy(Garlett a 2nd round play) etc.. fair enough but versus Macrae, Plowman, Grundy and even Jaksch who seems to be a safe potentially highly effective role player for us as he can go back would be percentage plays for me . Unless a exceptional talent, mmy strategy is to get inside mids later, nothing against V personally.

You can't get the Menzels and what not at the 30's so you can punt on them now if you can get a Vlas later without costing a farm(oppotunity cost). Can you say you can get a Grundy at his stage in 5 years, doubt it!

It has to be Vlastuin, Tony Greenberg just tweeted @richmond_fc Redheads. #rangalove #gotiges, about the draft.

It just has to be!

Isn't he a fake Greenberg?

Broomhead at 32. He's a Ranga isn't he???

got the sun on the way to work looked at their draft , they have kennedy, grundy, lonergan all going to the pies open the car door spewed my guts out , it made me take a sicky f@#ken.
Tony the Yugoslav, is that you? Lol....

Does anybody else get the feeling that we are looking at Vlastuin and absolutely no one else..it feels as if we will pick him over whitfield.
IMO there are much better players we should jump on if they slide. Menzel, Stringer, Wines - in that order should be our preference. I see Vlastuin as a pick 17 player. If we passed on menzel or wines i'll put a whole in my wall
If you honestly think they haven't done their homework on every single other player that is available in the draft then you have rocks in your head.

The way some speak you would think we still employ part time armatures still.

Exactly.

It's as if people think that FJ and co. have met and said, "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii guysssss!! soooo, like, we saw that fairyflosstone bloke play a good game back in may and now that it's summer and it's sunny and I wanna get a tan for summer, we will just stick with fanta pants because I can't be bother looking at anyone else. If he is gone by our pick, we have 2 minutes to pick one out of the hat, but make sure we don't look at who we have pulled at until we begin to read it out! Fingers crossed they are OK, like".

naaa the whole universe knows it will be JON. ;)

The risk, Mr Magic Mushroom, is that months after removing one cancer from the club (IMO at least partly because of the influence he was having on Dusty), some are naieve enough to believe that the only risk taking Garlett with our second pick, is that we waste our second pick. In reality, we are ALSO potentially jeapordising a very talented #3 pick.

Still keen to back in our people to make it work, that being the case?

Fact is, no matter how talented, if Garlett doesn't have the character to leave old habits behind, and commit to the lifestyle required to be a professional athlete, then he won't make it, and I don't want him at the club I support.

i think if that talented #3 pick doesnt have the ability to make good life choices yet then maybe he might be the cancer.
