yeah I would, his height and the fact he's seen mainly as a small forward causes a bit of doubt, just see so much to like, his ability as an I/O midfielder on top of his forward ability is huge, plus he's one of the quickest in the draft on top of that.Over Wines, Toumpas, Whitfield, Mayes, Menzel, etc, etc ,etc?
Scully compo picks. They've got one that directly follows their 1st pick (so if they have 3, they also get 4 etc).how dose melbourne get two picks inside top 10?

Dogs have similar, for Ward.
And just to ease the pain, the Demons have a "middle of first round pick" as well, which comes between the picks of the 8th & 9th placed sides.

Do you think they've been trying, this year? What eases my pain is their recent track record.![]()
I didn't mean their playing form. Was referring to their form at the recruiting table. They are bound to butcher 1 or 2 of those picks. Either that or they just can't develop their kids.Do you think they've been trying, this year?
Seems rather convenient they've dropped off so much, when there are that many more picks up for grabs for them.
Agree with everything here. Can't see us passing on Wines or Mayes if they're stll available at our pick. Having said that Kennedy looks like he will be a gun small forward who can run through the middle. I'm hoping we can land Menzel. Goal kicking midfielders are gold. There will be great choices for our first pick, but also for every other club. The key will be who we go for with our second round picks.
This is the key. If we're going to have an inside mid to replace Jacko, I want him to be able to kick, otherwise what is the point? There's a lot of Wines hype in this thread - so I'm going to ask a few questions: for the record, i'm a huge fan - but I'm just interested to see what you guys think.
- Do you think his disposal is elite enough?
- Can he play outside or is he merely an inside midfielder?
- Do you think he's quick enough?

I wouldnt want Kennedy just due to size, yes we are in need of a small forward but I think Nahas can fit the role without lighting the world on fire. If by some how out of miracle he falls to a second round pick for us then go for it. I'm pretty keen on Wines for ours first pick and why not try and snag a Rioli boy for a late pick/ rookie pick?any reason as to why or just gut feel?

Foley or Brent Harvey. Has a touch of arrogance to him as well.Kennedy reminds me more of a Foley type than a Nahas. Looks all class. I say no to Wines nothing special there.
Doesn't have burst speed, but Ok once he has a full head of steam. There's a lot of Wines hype in this thread - so I'm going to ask a few questions: for the record, i'm a huge fan - but I'm just interested to see what you guys think.
- Do you think his disposal is elite enough? OK but not elite
- Can he play outside or is he merely an inside midfielder? More inside mid
- Do you think he's quick enough?
Yes , yes and yes . If he falls to us and we don't grab him , we will forever regrett it . There is not one thing about him which I think won't be a great match for our side .There's a lot of Wines hype in this thread - so I'm going to ask a few questions: for the record, i'm a huge fan - but I'm just interested to see what you guys think.

Also FWIW there will be some very good inside hard at it mids in the 2nd round and onwards such as:
Jason Pongracic 182cm/86kg
Rory Atkins 183/75
Nathan Hrovat 174/76
Dean Kent 178/??
Sam Heavyside 177/70
Harrison Marsh 188/78
So wouldn't be against going Kennedy at all or an outside midfielder in Simpson or something if he's still available.
Doesn't have burst speed, but Ok once he has a full head of steam.
Watched him play against S.A. On pure skill level I thought S.A had better skilled players. Kennedy and Poumpas are exceptional.

What you seen in the 2 televised games is pretty much on the money .Not a prolific draft watcher so my opinion is based purely on what I saw in the 2 televised games. For mine Wines strikes me as a player who can play both in and out and that is something that I believe that we're lacking. For mine Cotchin and Martin are the only 2 we've got who can really play as both inside or outside mids. In other words they can go into the middle and win contested footy and then if we need to we can play them out of the midfield and can watch them tear a side apart in space. Deledio can do it, but unfortunately we don't see it often enough for whatever reason. Thats why I believe someone like Wines would be a great addition to our list.
As for our other midfielders they are either inside types who excel in winning contested footy and clearances, but struggle out in space or they are outside types who when called upon to go and win contested footy and clearances struggle. Not saying that there is anything wrong with that, but if we really want to go places when it comes to September we need more than just Cotchin and Martin to compete in finals.
is arrogance a good thing or bad thing?Foley or Brent Harvey. Has a touch of arrogance to him as well.
I meant in a good way. He has that you're never gunna catch me attitude on the run. He's often correct.is arrogance a good thing or bad thing?
