Vlastuin would be ok. I'd be content, but not that excited

Garner is growing on me

Irra might go ok, but regardless of that, what an impressive kid.
Ditto. Won't be upset with Vlastuin, very safe selection in a position needed, good kid, leader. Would be content.

Garner grows everyday more on me. Kid has so many exciting qualities, if developed right, could be Elite.

From a Facebook trade & draft thread (who tend to recycle their info from other news sources generally):

MELBOURNE "TANKING" UPDATE;

Industry sources believe that if Melbourne are proven guilty of allegations of "tanking" before the commencement of the 2012 AFL Draft, it is understood that they will be stripped of draft selections in this years draft, at the very least.

An AFL investigation into the Melbourne tanking affair has escalated with several key witnesses coming forward with fresh evidence, including repeated versions of at least one football meeting in 2009, referred to as "the vault" the season in which the club was trying to win no more than four games.

The Age believes Melbourne now faces possible sanctions after league investigators re-interviewed several players and coaches who played a role in the four-point loss in round 18 to Richmond.

We can only hope, I suppose!

Arsenal; Melbourne City.
Yes, because Viney would likely be available as the AFL would strip them of all their picks.

The draft could look something like...

Whitfield
Grundy
Toumpas
Wines
Stringer
Mayes
Macrae
Viney

Oh boy, oh boy, wowee!
Could be interesting B.T. :p

Jeepers. Could happen I suppose, but I cannot fathom the afl unwinding Viney.

Why would they be able to keep Viney? Why should they be able to keep their second round pick? Remember, they'd be punished for cheating. Why would the AFL be lenient if in the past they haven't been. Especially with this Adelaide saga, if all their picks are taken away from a crime which is clearly much less severe, havoc would erupt.

I understand he is F/S, but that really shouldn't be a relevant factor when AFL are making their judgement.

Hey, if it were up to me, he would go back in the pool. It's the AFL we are talking about, I just can't see it.

Yeah that's why Melbourne went trade crazy while they could. Knew picks would be taken. They will get to keep Viney and Hogan but if guilty cant see them getting any other early picks for a couple of years.

On another topic, I would be really happy if we landed Menzel. There is so much talent, and in my power rankings, have him at 5. Unfortunately the knee is a significant factor but if we are confident we could get him right, then no objections.

Wouldn't it just be magical if you have two of Deledio, Cotchin, Martin and Menzel rotating through the forward-line at once.
It would revolutionize the game. No more small forwards, it would be tall forwards, defensive forwards and midfielder-forwards. Gives me the shivers. Menzel kicked 14 goals in his first two games, unbelievable considering he's a midfielder.

I got to stop coming on here. Got so many kids that I like I'm going to be dissapointed come draft day. Really would have loved to have done 9 & someone for 12 & 14 :(

Actually, i retract my earlier statement about him kicking 14 goals in two games.

It was actually 15 goals in two games as a midfielder, 9 in his first and 6 in his second at the Championships, he didn't play the rest of the series due to injury, but he would be talked right up in the top 3-5 if he had continued that form for the entirety of the competition.

Absolute jet, I actually hope we pick him up now!

Vlastuin, Macrae, Garner, Mayes, Menzel, O'Rourke. Plowman, who here would actually be disappointed if we landed any of these players? I'm very happy with our draft position, it's honestly the same as having pick 5 for example. We'll get a gun either way.

Hearing some interesting things.

GWS set to take O'Rourke at Pick 3. Grundy could drop to selection 9, only Port standing in the way if the O'Rourke rumor is true.

Plowman could be top 5 selection. Garlett to drop out of the top 15.

Port would be stupid to pass Grundy up. If they are stupid then welcome to Tigerland Brodie ;)
