Firstly, all this Grundy talk is just speculation from bigfooty posters. Where has it all come from. I'm pretty confident he will got top 3. We are just losing the plot a bit with nothing else to talk about..and just suggesting its a possibility. reality is that anything is a possibility.
Secondly, where can we see some highlights of him?? Theres only one clip on youtube where he takes an average mark.

Based on what people are saying here It would be a steal. but from what ive seen I would rather focus on players that are likely around pick 9. Menzel and Stringer are the two IMO we should be taking. They are both absolute class players!!

Hearing some interesting things.

GWS set to take O'Rourke at Pick 3. Grundy could drop to selection 9, only Port standing in the way if the O'Rourke rumor is true.

Plowman could be top 5 selection. Garlett to drop out of the top 15.
If Dees lose 4, would Port be more likely to take a mid?

Go to http://www.afl.com.au/video/tabid/76/default.aspx then type in the search bar 'Brodie Grundy'

Two highlight reels should come up, theres around 4 and a half minutes of him.

Grundy's a no brainier if he slides, best young ruck to come through the system in a decade. Has mongrel and aggression with great tap work and sublime skills.

Surely Port wouldn't be stupid enough to pass on him. Their ruck stocks aren't anything to write home about either
They do desperately need some mids with class through the middle otherwise who the **** is Grundy going to tap it too? :p

But your right they should take him.

I actually reckon their midfield isn't too bad, strongest part of the ground for them. Hartlett, Boak, Ebert, Wingard, Broadbent, Gray, Jacobs is looking okay. But Redden, Renouf, Lobbe, Curnow.... hmmmm

Let's just hope they're stupid! (not impossible)

Hartlett plays HBF when he stays on the park.
Boak IMO is a good player but not a superstar.
Ditto Ebert.
Wingard will be good.
Gray's body is rooted.
Broadbent is ordinary but would be in their top 4 mids.
Jacobs well he's still got a long way to go.

IMO they could certainly use a gun midfielder. Where are their game breaking elite players? Wingard potentially but only in first year. Hartlett if he can get fit and play full time mid would possibly be another.

All true. Perhaps I should rephrase; Port's strongest area of the ground IMO is their midfield, which is still pretty poor, so sucks to be them.

They'll probably just go best available. Which would be Grundy at that stage, you'd think.

This just all sounds better. If Melb are shown to have deliberately tanked - rather than us, we just did it through incompetence! They should lose the lot this year, including Viney. That would be a reward to them effectively. Very bad signal from the AFL. That would in turn effectively bump us up 2 picks. Nothing is going to happen to GWS getting the other early pick. That would put Grundy in the potentially available list. Our potential picks would be fantastic, rather than just great. Grundy would be perfect, he'd be coming into full AFL ability as the Mullet lost it. Couldn't plan it better.

But remember nothing is set in stone. Juniors don't necessarily translate. Bling was supposed to be a super impressive junior and very good draft watchers still reckon he was a special. It just hasn't translated. And in rucks it is more common than any other position. Good luck to us, but it doesn't mean anything until the rubber hits the road.

I'm still excited though.

We couldn't have tanked even if we tried.

They misread Tambling. His exposed form was in Div 2 in a weak year.

On Grundy, surely the Dogs will take him if GWS doesn't.

Dogs are prob the one club with Brissy that i see not taking him. Only cause they already have a fair few ruck/fwd young options and are in desperate need of midfield/backline depth.

Hope you're right!

Hypothetical, Melbourne are stripped of all picks including Viney, who re-enters the draft pool. Where is he likely to land and would we have a look at him?

GWS and Port are the only clubs before us that will take Grundy. From what we are hearing.

Industry intelligence is saying O'Rourke is wanted by GWS. They have already committed to Whitfield and most believe Toumpas too. So if it is true and they take O'Rourke at 2 or 3, Grundy looks like he will only be taken by the Power.

In talking about the Power mixed messages about who they value the highest is still coming out, with Menzel, Mayes and Membrey all been rumoured. No mention at all of Grundy.

Let's clear it up, it's a long shot no doubt, but a possibility. Growing all the time. I will try and scoop over the next two weeks two things. Who has spoken lately to O'Rourke and try and see what the talk is about who the Power want. I personally think they want Menzel but that is my opinion only.

Nice work Tigerbob. Appreciate it. I would have thought if Melbourne are still selecting at 4 they would be keen. Jamar is 29 and injuries are starting to hit. They would be kicking themselves at missing out on Nic Nat + they got a top 5 midfield talent in Viney for 26.
