We will go midfield with our first selection, of that I have no doubt wouldn't be surprised if we go midfield with our first 3 selections.

Well our first three picks and a player would need to be offered.

Anyway, let's deal with there here and now. We have picks 9, 29 and 31. I cannot see Membrey falling into those picks and now I doubt we will see Macrae at our Pick 9. I love Graham at our pick 29. Is a chance to make it there.

Pick 9, gotta get a star.
Personally I would like one of Wines O'Rourke or Macrae if we hang onto pick 9. Anyone of those 3 we'll have ourselves a star. Reckon at least 2 of them will be available when our pick rolls around.

We'll get a gun at 9. Think about it.

Whitfield Toumpas Grundy Mayes O'Rourke Plowman Macrae Wines Shaw Vlastuin Garlett

We should land one of the red and wouldn't be disappointed with any of them.

Have not watched much Junior footy this year unfortunately, but Ben Kennedy has been mentioned as a decent mid. Do you guys who have been watching rate him or not? And what pick would you expect to see him go at?

add in Daniher and Viney as F/S and you'd be guarunteed one of those in red at pick 13 as well.

Was at the game, never heard of Graham but he was fantastic! as was Membrey, but i wonder how he will find the transition, obviously very used to being the vocal point and being the biggest bloke around, won't be either at afl level is too small.

#9- Wines
#29- Towers
#31- Graham
#50- Lee

Please please please

I'm Pretty sure we are going to get 3 very very good players with #9 , #29 ,#31 and maybe even get a really good slider at #50

Top 30 looking really good

First 3 picks :
Wines ( best inside mid within the draft might slide due to limited time playing outside .) gun
Stringer ( would like him vet checked , concerned still not right from leg but , just to good pre injury to
Ignore , having 2 Dusty's can't be a bad thing can it ?)
Clurey ( huge fan , should make a remarkably good forward , TAC cup full back who played CHF in 2011 , a tad injury proned )

Not based on my own observations, but from what I've ready Kennedy is likely to go somewhere around 10-15. Potentially may slide a little due to his (lack of) height. Should be there at pick 9, but I understand we may be looking at other options rather than Kennedy at this pick.

Thought he and Nick Graham were best on. You want to know a Sam Mitchell type who may be available at our second rounders? Look no further. Is a one grab player, great sense of the game around him, excellent vision, hard worker, great disposer.
Has one major downside though... he'll give us supporters that moment of dread every time we see his name on the team sheet... until we realise, hang on, it's a different Graham! :D

Seems that pick 29 & 31 could/should net us a couple of good, ready to go (or near to) inside mids, such as Graham and Hrovat, for example.

Last mention I'd like to give goes to Jarryd Drew, who along with Graham and Membrey was part of Power's resurgence. He is an inside-mid with pace, attacks the ball like Morris and can go forward and snag a few, which was evident when he kicked a clutch goal to put GP in the lead.

If anyone has some questions about the game, I'd be happy to answer them.
How is Drew's disposal? Where do you think he'll land?

Hey Mods,

Could we do a Richmond Board Mock Draft? I see they are doing it on the WCE board. Would be fun. I have noticed a lot of Tigerheads keen on the draft, I am happy to take part, would be a great way to see what other think and who ranks who higher or lower?

I highly doubt Stringer or Clurey will drop to those picks. That's more of a wishlist than anything realistic.

not in the 1st few rounds mate. i think you need to realise this. it aint happening.
Mate we don't need another inside mid like every one is banging on about .. Cause isn't that what conca is for ? Or is he just average like I have said before ?

We failed to convert goals and that's why we lost so many close games and the players who don't convert are not genuine chf's there just mid fielders

Here's my report of the game.

Oakleigh was really strong early, they were just winning the contests and were just that much more classy than their opponents, Billings slotted the first, a snap under some pressure about 15m out. He was incredible the entire game. He is one of the most natural footballers that I have ever seen. Membrey was huge again, not as big as last week but took around 3 marks in the opening 5 minutes and he hardly lost his feet. He provides great pressure on the defenders and looks after his teammates. Macrae spent extended time up forward and was very good, missed a few shots and I have a few question marks over his kicking action but when he has the ball, he finds space and is a great runner. Macrae is in a way like Pendlebury in the way that he is a smooth mover, just finds the gaps and can get around players easily. Very very smart footballer and has that aura of arrogance, which I like. Kristian Jaksch was good, took some really good contested marks including a hangar and was good on the lead. He was moved into defence at around half-time and didn't look out of place at all. Jay Kennedy-Harris was prominent too and is an exact replica of Robin Nahas, I mean, there is no closer comparison. He'll need to put on some size though if he's going to make it. Similar to Kennedy-Harris, Jordan Collopy was really good on the outside and loves to take players on, he has good pace and a good kick. I wouldn't mind us having a look at him. I also liked Aiden Franetic from the Chargers, he was really good today. He is an excellent kick but made a few blues when the heat was on.

At half time Oakleigh were up by around 20 points and for me, their class was just too overwhelming. However, a few guns of Gippsland stood up and a beauty of a game began to unfold. My BOG for me, Nicholas Graham was absolutely incredible. After half-time he literally put Gippsland on his shoulders. He won an incredible amount of clearances and even went forward and slotted around 3. He is a Luke Hodge type, after this game I would be ecstatic if we could snag him with our 2nd round, but I now have some doubts whether he will last that far. Other than Membrey who was the focal point for the whole game, GP's other KPF was Josh Scott. He was pretty ordinary in the first half but he worked himself into the game. He was brilliant in the last half and he was very confident in his abilities. His style reminds me of Jack Watts, but maybe not the same level of athleticism. William Hams was also pretty decent. He is fast, he loves to take players on, is good overhead and is a goal-kicker. There was one really impressive play where he was running through the corridor after taking on like 2-3 Chargers, he kicked it to Membrey who was 50m out infront, who was spoiled and the ball went into space, he sprinted to the ball, did a clean pick-up and snapped truly from around 45m out.

Power got on top of Oakleigh and were up by 2 goals with around 5 minutes to go. Some excellent work by Billings and another player who now eludes me saw Oakleigh break even with their opposition. With 30 seconds to go the Chargers won a clearance, the ball got to the wing. Collopy got the ball and found Macrae, alone 45m out near the boundary. Macrae practically waltzed in, kicked a behind and the siren went. It was quite an entertaining finish to a great game.

Any good goal scoring mids make there presense ?
