Oh, time for an updated wish list:

A:
9: Grundy
32: Hrovat
34: Carter
43: Sumner

B:
9: Vlastuin
32: McBean
34: Broomhead
43: Herbert

C:
9: Macrae
32: McBean
34: Graham
43: Towers

I was considering making an option D with Menzel, but from recent reports, won't be available at 9.

As you can see, I have an even spread across everything. Each option has a ruckman, I see this as a neccessity. Maric + Vickery are good, but we can't rely on Derickx. We have no-one under 21 who is capable of being a first ruckman. I also have at least one inside midfielder, (Hrovat, Vlastuin, Graham) who I believe will all be good players at AFL level, barring Vlastuin who I believe will be elite. I have one pacey, x-factor type, outside player (Sumner, Herbert, Towers) which is a type we are desperately lacking in the midfield. Finally, I have a utility in each too, (Carter, Broomhead, Macrae) who I believe will all be good players at AFL level, barring Macrae who will become elite.

Which group would you take?

Tell you what, jeez I wish that Nahas for a second round pick rumour that had legs a couple of months back had come to fruition now. Still laugh at all the ferals who were actually offended by the suggestion and seriously thought it was unders.

That's what I want to hear MR :thumbsu:

While on the subject, how the flying saucer do you pronounce his name? I've heard it pronounced 'floss-twin', 'floss-tane', 'floss-toon', 'floss-ten'... Everyone is as confused as I am it seems

Floss-Tane I believe.

I disagree, he is quite an underrated player at Richmond.

Look I like him, but his deficiencies are considerable and pronounced for mine, so we'll have to agree to disagree.

In order I would prefer

A quick question for the more knowledgeable draft watchers. Where will Hrovat go? Is it realistic for him to last until our pick 32?

Does not look likely. Been interviewed by Collingwood and Sydney extensively. Both seem very keen at their first pick.

I'm about 90% sure Hrovat will be pulling on a Collingwood jumper next year... :(

Yeah, he will go first round. Is a shame, I really wanted him with out second pick. I honestly think he will be a good AFL footballer.

The more I read about this draft the more I'm inclined to agree with you and I've been a supporter of Nahas for a while

He definitely will be. The comparison with Sam Mitchell are spot on in my book. Sam is 177cm, Hrovat is 175.9cm.

Hrovat is a great kid, infectious personality and sleeps with the footy. He lives and breaths it. Will make it. Followed him all year. Would take him at around Pick 12- 20.

Probably better we don't draft him. Too many people on here would just whinge that he's too short and he'll be shit.

I completely disagree with the bolded sentence. Unless there is a stand out ruck who can potentially dominate ie Nic Nat, drafting ruckman beyond pick 5-10 is a huge waste IMO. Every team can only have 2 decent ruckman playing before the 3/4 ruck start getting unhappy. This means that ruckman beyond the best 36 ruckman in the country could change clubs for opportunity rather cheaply (ie Ivan Maric). Even a 2nd ruck could change clubs to play 1st at another, so you could say any guy beyond the best 18 ruckman as attainable. Due to the time it takes to develop a ruckman (4 years minimum), the risk that they may never be inside this top 18 guys in the country and the fact that you can use the same pick on a ready made ruck, it never makes sense to use a pick on them. For mine the days of drafting an 18yo twig in the hope they may become a first ruck is over.

Makes we wish even more that we'd somehow traded 9 for 12 and 14 or something similar. We'd likely still get Vlastuin at 12 and someone like Hrovat or Kennedy as well... :(

So if Adelaide and Melbourne are stripped of their picks, Jacobs and Tippet both enter the draft and are taken before our pick, and taking Viney and Daniher out of the pool our selections are effectively 9, 26, 28 and 37. Boom!

EFA. Pick 4 is set to be gone. Tippett could go to Brissy and could force GWS to take him early.
