So Tigers have 6 picks in the draft now, 9, 32, 34, 43, 88 & 100.

9. Vlastuin or Wines
32. Graham
34. Pongracic
43. Dick
88. Toy
100. Wood

Would expect us to pass on the last 2 and then use delisted FA period to pick up others, if at all.

Where did 6 come from?

Confused
After second list lodgement today the AFL released the updated draft order.

Kind of related to the draft... Jayden post is playing for Altona next year and has not nominated for the draft.
Gee, alot of snipers in that western region league, watch out Jayden.....if you thought the AFL was tough you ain't seen anything yet.

I'd like to point out two players who appeal to me for pick 43:

Jacob Ballard (186cm, 82kg) - Mid/Defender
  • Very fit (14.2 beep test).
  • Strong in one on one contests.
  • Good disposal.
  • Strong mark.
  • Wins the football.
Jacob Ballardis a hard working competitive midfielder with a big engine who can also spend time in the back line as required.
Despite Ballard’s elite endurance there is a lot to like about him as a backman rather than an onballer. In defense Ballard is competitive both at ground level and when the ball comes in aerially, he still collects a lot of the football and his solid disposal can set up rebound attacks all day.
As a midfielder Ballard is solid but he is unlikely to be one of the top line midfielders at any AFL club.
Ballard will likely get drafted somewhere after pick 40 in this years draft.

Nick Rodda (196cm, 98kg) - Defender

Strong tall defender who uses his body well in man on man contests. Provides good run from defence, averaging 12 disposals and four marks for WA in the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships. Deceptively quick and agile player for his size who uses the ball well either foot.

Brett Anderson & Mick Ablett on SEN now. Can anyone get a recap on what they say about our selections. Don't have a radio with me. :(
Really only discussed pick 9. Mentioned:
Vlaustin - been linked to Tigers for ages.
Aiden Corr - Been linked in recent days.
Kristian Jacksh? - They said Tigers need a key CHF:confused:

has anyone mentioned the kid we may well take at 9....Hrovat?...Excellent kick , wins contested ball..sounds like dimmas type!

NFI. Lol.

Corr won't go 9. Way too high IMO.

Jaksch is a good prospect though.

Is that a prediction or you've heard?
prediction mate..FJ stated contested ball so more important these days & dimma loves good kicking . it just a hunch but if it not Hrovat expect someone very similar..It rare to get a contested ball specialist that has great disposal.

Brett Anderson was saying he'd heard a few whispers in recent days that we are into Jacksch. They were also talking about moneyball rankings out of 120 for each player where points were given for things like interviewing/character, psych profile, football ability, athletic ability, decision making, skills etc. Tom Clurey aparently came in at number two on the inside footballs moneyball rankings. I suspect this is the kind of approach that the RFC takes and it's one I'm really keen on. Desire, resilience, application, mental toughness, leadership, character are all super important in building a successful team.

Whats your dream first choice pick to suit your club?
During the year the boys asked dayle garlett what team would you like to play afl for. he replied,
well i would preffer and rather not play footy or live in queensland, adelaide ,sydney with the new teams and the other teams like
the cats, tigers, freo, north melb, blues he cant see himself playing for them as not a fan of them growing up so hopefully not them teams will be sweet. but the the rest is ok, so guys would you rather a player like vlastuin, jasksch, kennedy, clurey, stringer ect that are keen to play with pride as there is so many great kids around ?

grundy. grundy. grundy just in case you did not get it the first time I thought I would put it 3 times.

we must take grundy over vlas.

Who was number 1?

Ben Kennedy is an absolute beauty Im not worried about his height at all he is a gun

If we get Kennedy at 31 I will be so, so, so stoked
If you got Kennedy at pick 31 it would be the steal of the century. Kids got huge talent despite his small stature. Great inside or out midfielder who goes forward and kicks a spectacular goal. His stats say he's as good as almost any midfielder in the draft. Christ I'd be celebrating if that happened. I'm amazed he is not being spoken about with all the midfielders in this post. Has the talent to be top 10.

I dare say we will miss finals If Maric goes down & your expecting an 18 yr old kid fill his shoes anyway...
Nobody said we expect him to replace Maric, however, he would be there to help Vickery in the interim and would be developing for the future. Snagging Maric the way the tigers did is not the Norm. I know the Pies with Jolly and Geelong with Ottens got great rucks but they gave up first round draft picks. Geelong gave us 2. We stuffed them both. Young quality rucks are hard to find. Grundy makes sense... Most likely gone anyway!
