We've replaced 2 already. Although Edwards isn't a tall as such he plays as one so takes a spot on the field as one. Chaplin is certainly a tall and a quality one who will play best 22. If that rumour I posted about Aliir Aliir is true that gives us one more.

I already think we had too many as it was as Coburg was a huge side with no midfield. We obviously needed to load up in quantity in order to find enough quality but I think we are starting to find out which KPP are the quality ones now.

KPF: Riewoldt, Vickery, Elton, Astbury, Edwards, McGuane with possibly Aliir Aliir as a project at Coburg.
KPD: Chaplin, Rance, Grimes, Griffiths, Darrou with Batchelor being able to play a role if required (on 3rd tall fwd)

If Mason Shaw pops up at pick 32/34 I'd certainly be looking at it but I think we need quality mids/a medium forward.

Of course you have to get the ball first, but that is when you are in a GF. You can easily get outside players, gun forwards, rucks etc.. and after that then to help get the ball first and then get your extractors last if that suits.

What if you get your chief extractor later in a free agency play to help Cotch???

I think we should have a good look at Jake Stringer if he is still around at 9. He's big enough to play in the inside midfielder role as well as being able to play the 3rd tall in the forward line.

Agree we need another ruck for sure. Sorry was more talking KPP. Ruck we could get in the rookie draft if we don't get Grundy. There isn't one worthy of 43 IMO.

I think there is a bluff involved frankly. One poster is deliberately not making any sense as a foil IMO

We as the supporters know who we want. It would not surprise me in the slightest if FJ came out and selected someone totally diff to who we have been banging on about.

Grundy speculation that he wouldn't last past us would all be media driven putting two and two together that we need a backup ruckman. If Vlaustin is as good as advertised I could see a heap of clubs linked to him.

Wouldn't even do that, if Port get him they will offload next year plus other teams, prospects create opportunities. patience is a virtue and I wouldn't waste picks on rucks unless for someone like Grundy

Just praying that Grundy slips through, would set up our ruck division for the next 10 years. Maric/Vickery for the next couple, then as Maric slows down a bit Grundy can look to come in and rotate with Vickery as ruck/KPF with Maric a more than handy 30 year old back up.

Such an intersting draft this one. Looks like we will get someone good no matter what. For this little black duck - ne expert just opinionated.
1) Grundy - good rucks add so much to a team, he is ready when Ivan gets over 30, and he frees up our drafting for a decade (very important to me).
2) Vlastuin - He adds where we need it. Inside mid that will get the ball over other very good inside mids, uses it well even though under pressure. Leadership!! This is worth gold and jewels. We need mroe leadership. When the whips are cracking and times a tough (GFs espcially) leadership is number 1.
3) whoever drops and is awesome.

After that I'll trust FJ.

im sure they all can but how many chf's do we want? astbury,griff and elton. at some point you have to back in these blokes. what will be, will be but think of the 2's and where wthey all will line up. i would have thought a inside mid is more a pressing need or a grundy if available, but if jaksh is seen as a gun we cant not choose then so be it.

I have a feeling outside of probably needing another ruck we are at the stage we need to see if the kids sink or swim. If we keep recruiting more talls it's going to end up like this years ruck situation and some will need to play at 3rds level. We were already crowded for talls.

I want a small/medium forward who can break a game open. Atkins has the ability to be that but I like him more as a midfielder. Warrell/Sumner/Duffy those types. Can win you a game in 5 minutes.

this is the exact reason why drafting jaksch at 9 may not be the best thing.

I'm of the opinion that just about any result will have at least some posters up in arms.

Mind you, there are obviously a select few around here that do actually have intimate knowledge of the draftees, as well as spending a lot of time to actually research the facts. Not everyone is simply an armchair expert like me
