******* LOL. No he wouldn't have been.
Yes he would have. If you're from Tassie it doesn't matter where you go, if you go you're a success story.
For a comparison, this is the same competition where Webberley was head and shoulders above the rest.

Is it fair to assume that with Fox having the rights to broadcast the draft, that will be the only means of watching it live (i.e. no online stream etc?). Don't have pay TV, sadly, but I'd love to watch it unfold live!

i reckon it is easier for the club to find a ruckmen in future (mature age - Maric type situation) than a gun midfielder, therefore im leaning on a mid - and if a choice between Wines and Vlas - pick Vlas still only because of the captaincy call

Got him a brownlow medal. Got Essendon Nowhere. Its a team game and the aim is to win flags.
Hardly Watson's fault. Perhaps if they had less flashy, X Factor types, and more in the Watson mould, they'd have gotten closer to a premiership.

Pretty obvious you don't like him. He was a first round prospect before the combine. Was seen as a late first from as early as last year. His injury at the start put him out of people's memories for a bit but as soon as he started playing he's been talked up again. Agree that 9 is a bit high for him but **** me dead undrafted? Not even close.

Got no issues with him at all. Just think he'd be better suted to our second round pick. I never once said he'd go undrafted did I? Of course he was going to get drafted, just that he would never have thought he'd pick a top ten pick, I daresay not one person from Tassie would have thought that either.

Way to selectively pick a name that suits your argument. For a start, Webberley was a mature ager. How about you use Richo or JR in your argument... they came from Tassie too ;)

I agree Lonergan seems a bit of a reach based on mock drafts/media speculation... but he seems to have a lot of things going for him. Leadership, big bodied inside mid, burst pace (KM keep likening him to Judd, without being to the same elite level, of course), can go forward, played against men since he was 15 years old! Must say, I'm warming to him, if we go that way.

You said he'd be happy just to be drafted prior to combine.

I didn't see a response quizzing you on this, I take it your source thinks we are not set on a player (Vlastuin) and we will wait to see who is available. Possibilities now could be Wines, Grundy or maybe Lonergan if Vlastuin is gone.

you are nearly right, my source states that from all the draftees we will definitely pick him at no 9. And then at 32 draft someone else. He knows for a fact that the no 9 pick will not be who we pick at 32. That is confirmed. ;)

Doesn't mean I thought he wouldn't. You have your opinions I have mine, I'll just say I don't agree with taking Lonergan at 9.

Heard this morning that GWS are likely to leave Toumpas and Melbourne will take him ahead of Wines, Which leaves Wines to the bulldogs but will likely take Macrea and Menzal as they already have a mountain of inside mids. Port have almost commited to Grundy and Brisbane are tossing up between Mayes and Jaksch.
Surely we would take Wines over Vlastuin? Wines reminds me of Dusty.

at the end of the day dudes its up to FJ and co to rate the draft list 1-> wherever, according to them and our requirements. When its our turn they will look down on the list and whoever is at the top of it without a red line drawn through his name, will have his name called out by us...all the maybes and slips and BS is pissing in the wind..

One thing that is quite strange is that the Pidgeons are after Richo...apparently for game 1, but me thinks last year's marquee signing is going to play "somewhere else".....doozy? ;)

I agree that Grundy is proberly a better player then Wines but can we play Griffiths, Maric, Vickery and Grundy all in the same side? Grundy will need to devalop and whilst he is young we still want to devalop Vickery and Griffiths too. I can't see all 4, 200cm players in the same team. Maric still has at least 4 more year's left in him, Get the best mid recruit a mature age ruckman then in 3-4 year's time get one in free agency or trade for one.

And you don't see this in Vlastuin? I do. This is exactly what I see in Vlasutuin. The sort of person who is so hard, and competitive, that when the game is on the line, he'll drag his team over the line. A natural leader. Maybe not "flashy", but if the above is your definition of X Factor, then I reckon Vlastuin has it, absolutely.

a selwood type player?

I couldn't disagree with this comment more

Luke hodge has no xfactor ? And can't play as a genuine mid ?

You must be talking about someone else because a fit hodge is all that and more

i agree but i think hardness at the ball is an x factor in and of itself which is not being recognised in this discussion. this is the x factor i see in hodge not anything flashy.

In saying that i'v notice when Dusty is under presure he rushes it and misses a few targets, In open space he is good but I dont think his kicking skills are as great as people talk them up to be.
Fair call. I'd also like him to use his left far more.
I really want him to explode in 2013. 34 touches and 4 goal stuff. Well within his capabilities.
Great that he's come back lean
