Gents been a pleasure discussing things wy all.
Its an interesting time one night before the so called super draft.
stuff this up and it will put us back 2 years, this is the crucial one, there is one more cleanout to go next year and then we are okey dokey PROVIDED we draft right.

I will only be happy if we draft a player with x factor, the mids are there dont worry about that.
come on tigers, be bold be strong and bold oh were from tiger...yellow and black

Some of us have friends and relatives in the junior ranks and get info from them. Combined with comments from guys like Shifter and you have a solid foundation to form an opinion!

Does that make sense?

Shifter just talks everyone up....he said somthng along the lines of tambling being a mix of judd and aka pre draft!!!

There will be some shocks tomorrow night. Think Bulldogs and Port sway the draft in a new direction. Last hearing is Richmond may have gone cold on Vlastuin. Nothing is sure.

Grundy getting to North or Collingwood is remarkable. Garlett a late round pick the same. In a draft where top end talent is not as high as some other years, these two represent high end talent misplaced in the bargain bin.

Stringer to Bulldogs along with Macrae letting Menzel slip. I just can't work it out what clubs think.

Amazingly clubs picking at around Pick 20 may get better talent than those at Pick 5.

What a draft!

just a suggestion after the draft tomorrow the phrase X Factor should be banned from this forum .No one actually knows what the phrase means and no one knows how it applies to afl

Yep agreed plus I can't f#£king stand the show the X factor so I'm all for the ban :)

Would love Grundy,Menzel or Stringer. But if they are gone i would be very happy with Macrae or Kennedy in the middle as left footers which i know the club are keen to get into the mix.Kennedy's pace is very attractive!

I wish there was a way we could get Kennedy without using pick 9

Huge difference. There was actually nothing wrong with Selwoods knee. I saw the orthopaedic surgeons report on it back in 2006 (Mr Hayden Morris).
This guy has already had a LARS procedure. This has been discredited all around the world (banned in France) and when you go back in to reoperate on them the whole thing is all fraid and fragmenting.
If you are willing to go down this path don't be disappointed with him if and when he breaks down.
There was something on him earlier that said a doctors report on his knee said he was eligible for a normal reconstruction if needed. Or something to that effect. Would that make him a less risky prospect?

Can we take Jacobs at 33 please.Love to piss off the Bummers & the Roos for that matter.I rate him & he fits into the trading mantra we have adopted over the last few years re his age & experience. He has done his apprenticeship with Port lets cash in on him now.

I think that there will be better players available. Although, if he does last to 42, I'd be all for it.

Yeah understand but taking him at 33 & still having 42 to pick another kid is the attraction to me.We would need to jump in before ess & roos & he would be ready to play straight away pick 33 or 42 maybe a couple of years away from playing.

As I understand it, the club doesn't see Kennedy as a midfielder, but primarily a forward, and therefore has minimal interest.

Wines and Menzel names being dropped but to be totally honest, no one has any idea. This draft has gone bonkers. So even that shocks will cause rethinks as the draft flows through. Only thing sure? Whitfield at number one, but hearing O'Rourke and Plowman will be at GWS now.

This will be an epic night, lets hope our club gets it right.

We couldnt be lucky enough to be able to choose from Grundy & Menzel could we at pick 9?

God help us if we are, and overlook both. Seems highly unlikely we'd take Grundy, for whatever reason (I don't understand it... not as if we're flush with quality rucks on our list!), so would only take us being concerned over Menzel's knee's, and our eventual choice at pick 9 may be enough to send this place into meltdown!

The club have made no sign that Grundy is on the radar except for rumours a few weeks ago when it emerged he will drop we fancied him. Since then though, nothing. Which could mean we have played it well and will strike or we won't.

I look at past history and generally we hear news about Richmond openly and for a while. Knights, Chaplin etc. So Vlastuin has been the one for a couple of months, I can't see it changing if I am honest.

I'd be surprised if Jacobs wasn't taken by North at 37

Passing up on not 1 (Wines), not 2 (Grundy) but 3 (Menzel) for Vlastuin makes me sad.

Quite right, we dont know what other clubs are thinking we may be making the "right" choice in Vlastuin. Extending that thinking I don't know what the RFC really thinks. Personally I have not heard talk of Vlastuin from the club, clearly many have.

My point is more around opposition supporter and the media pressure that will come, and perception often become reality with these things. With our history we don't need to take on that sort of risk we have very good (better in many eyes) alternatives.

so,in your post you stated no club so i guess that was an error? i know what you mean in the bf / media arena but you cant possibly know how each club rates each player. this perception you talk about is really rubbish and can only be referred to later in time. there is no club that show a perfect draft selection process record so i wouldnt think they would start throwing stones.
