Anyone got any info on Shane Nelson incase we do take him?
Small midfielder who uses it reasonably well. Missed out last year after getting sick and losing 7kg at Combine. 19 year old with a good tank, good speed and has racked it up at WAFL senior level this year.

Just asked Emma Quayle on twitter she said vlastuin is going up this morning

on another note anyone tell me how to get rid of the coughlan 09?

I don't know how Richmond could have both Martin and Garlett in the side, it would fly in the face of Richmond's recruiting strategy. I think the issue with Martin is that he's not that he's a loser or doesn't care about putting in the effort to become an afl player, he's just not that bright and makes poor decisions, but he seems to be a committed worker on the field. Garlett doesn't seem to be like that, he seems unprofessional on and off field and doesn't take that much pride in things such as fitness, which is never an issue for Martin. I don't know, if the club feels they can turn him around using one of Richmond's later picks it's a possibility but I expect it to be a struggle.

C 'mon!!! if you have bustling Martin you can get Garlett as they complement each other. Probably not first pick but 2nd definitely.

You can also have too much of the one thing, too big or too light across the list , etc..

Can't help but think there has to be a significant genetic factor regarding menzel's knee which makes me say no.*

Not outside the realms of possibly.

The Hartlett brothers (Adam and Hamish) both have persistant hamstring problems that relate to their genetic make up.

I don't think it was playing style behind his reasoning not to have Garlett and Martin.

What strategy would that be?
Richmond have been happy to take (at least) their fair share of risks on "issues" players - even this off-season, as far as it's gone so far.

If a club gets him right, there's a big payday. Big 'if', though.

Wut? Garlett has too many issues. Martin's issues has been well documented but I think he's a kind of player who, if you said to him: "you can't drink or smoke at all this year and you must train harder" I think Martin would accept that, would Garlett?

I think it's staggering that 13 clubs have essentially said: "Garlett? Yeah... nah" if anything, I could be being kind to the kid. I've heard WA posters call him a headcase. As I said, Martin just seems to be a country boy who needs to grow up and hang around the right kind of people. Hopefully with Connors gone that happens. Garlett seems to be a potential cancer on the club which just got rid of the cancer known as Dan "it's not my fault, I just forgot to charge my phone" Connors.

I know Sydney have ruled him out, but I think he would be really suited to them. The club has just won the flag, and could easily say to him: "hey buddy, we just won the flag, get in line" he'd see all these upstanding blokes like Bolton, O'Keefe, Hannebery and Kennedy who have very good work ethics and how they train, he'd see Goodes who would hopefully take him under his wing, (and how could Garlett disappoint his hero?) Longmire would probably make it clear that he wouldn't take any rubbish from him and would probably read him the riot act if he ever played up. It's also a market where troubled kids can disappear given the media scrutiny in Sydney isn't as high as say WA or Victoria. But I understand Sydney's decision.

Does anyone else hear also hope that we get Dean Towers with either our 2nd or 3rd pick?
I reckon he is the missing piece in the puzzle for Richmond to push up the ladder in 2013.

But if it is genetic, maybe it's a good thing he's got the synthetic ligament in there now.
