the key for us will be beating the up and coming young sides, like Richmond at the G and against the bombers.. where they ahve towelled us up the last 2 times.
I dont mind the hard run into the finals the coaches seem to have us coming into the peak of our performaces and we tend to play well coming into the final 5-6 rounds of the year..The key will be where we are positioned on the ladder at that time, if we are playing for last final positions and then make the finals, we could have expended ourselves before then..if we are sitting comfortably around 4-5-6 then it will put us in good stead for finals campaign...

We need to measure ourselves against them top 4 sides and have wins against them this year, we only beat Geelong last year and Eagles (though i put the Blues ahead of the Eagles)

Not a bad draw the first half can set ourselves up for the entire year

[QUOTE) lol... not for a while now son.....
hey we still beat sydney this year despite only winning seven games.
our record at the SCG is brilliant 10 wins and 5 losses, so we have no reason to fear playing the swans on their home turf.

5 melbourne games plus the shit one at the Cattery. Also that Sat late timeslot is bullshit if your involved with a local club.

Trying to kill the Melbourne fan base Again bedford. The Tas game is no probs for me as I have beds all over the state to stay in at will but remembering how many struggle to get tickets just for Geelong the launnie game will be even harder. this is going to be gut wrenching for the Melbourne based group.

And Ireland comes out and said its acceptable, 6 games in Vic with the one at Geelong nearly impossible to get in and when you do you have to pay top odds for a seat.
Some silly bi@ch on FB says the club is now the Sydney Swans and nothing to do with Vic. She got a typical bedford reply. lol

Not overly happy with the finish, but if we can't win 3 of the last 5 we are only making up the numbers anyway. We don't play either Carlton or Essendon in Sydney, which sucks big time.

The other thing is our games at the MCG or in Melbourne in general. I'm not from Victoria but that's a disgrace, we have so many old South supporters there and they're treated with contempt it seems.

Geelong is harder to get in than Launny IMO. In saying that, despite living in Tassie, i have never gone to a York Park AFL Game. Still, i think u can rock up on game day and get a ticket, especially for some of the smaller games.

you can add Adelaide into the bold comment.

No. The umpires were the main reason the Crows won the game this year. That so-called 'mark' to Tippett was very bad, as were a number of other decisions. Don't worry order will be restored next season when we win again by 10 goals.

Re the fixture, it's not as bad as it may seem at first. St Kilda and Bulldogs are both on the way down, so the only two teams that we play twice that are worth worrying about are Hawthorn and Geelong.

no 6.14.50 was the reason you lost.
bad kicking is bad football.

11 losses from last 13 matches against the crows how can you be that confident?

I personally think the big news is only one game at the MCG next year...
We're so terrible there, you could look at it as a bonus or missed chance to try improving.
I'm very happy to get 5 games down here in Melbourne. Great that the AFL does this for all us southern Bloods fans.

Swans in Tassie:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:. Hopefully can get up there and have a look. Not looking forward to our kicking at Windy York Park though.

Tassie should have its own team... anyway there are alot of Swans supporters in Tas, there is great history with the Swans. Some of our greatest were Tasmanians.

good stuff, some Swans supporters dont even realize sometimes when you read there posts when they are commenting on our club.. and welcome back.

Looks like an easy start to the season with only Hawthorn making the top 8 from our first 8 opponents. However, this means that we have an incredibly tough run home with Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Geelong taking 4 of the 5 last rounds!

Another go at a Friday night SCG game, hopefully there will better weather and none of those pesky royals decide to get hitched.

Also, what's with the matches starting at 3.15 or 4.40? We play 9 of them. Yuck.

Apparently the swans requested twilight games this year!!! The guy that was trying to convince us sunday footy is a great thing for juniors told me that the Swans put in a request for more Friday night games and twilight games. Guess they got one of those wishes.
