Newman the standout of the small group that played WAFL league

Stevenson didn't play on Broadhurst in the first half, went to him in second half kept him quite allowing
Claremont to come from behind and win.

I should've looked it up - thought Kennedy was 24 and for some reason thought McGovern was a bit older.

Either way it doesn't leave much wriggle room as sooner or later if his development continues like it has, McGovern will be pushing for a spot and with Lynch being the only spot due to open up soon it will come down to McGovern vs McInnes for that spot.

Only way to accommodate both would be if Darling pushes into the midfield, or McGovern becomes the back up ruck to Naitnaui and we get rid of Lycett.

I'm just glad we do have this headache to worry about, unlike our friends up the road who's tall forward stock after Pav consist of Mayne, Anthony and Bradley with no other tall forwards on their radar outside of their backup ruck in Clarke

Whether Brown is good enough - see other thread - to be a long term replacement for Glass.

Would love to see what Mcgovern can do at CHB, another potential swing man, but with his marking and physical game would be an ideal key back proposition.

1) McGovern is too small to be an AFL ruckman.
2) McInness is the heir apparent to Lynch - he is playing a similar role at Perth

Started at CHF in the game against EP, in the tropical storm, think he played there most of the game. I have heard him being swung back to CHB a couple of games this year though and I'm pretty sure the Eagles recruited him because they believe he can go forward or back.

Just reminiscing about a player who was drafted in 1994 and made his debut as a small forward in the same year, picking up a premiership along the way - Shane Bond.
Murray Newman reminds me of Bond'y, similar build, superb balance and can kick goals.
Who knows maybe Newman can pick up a premiership medal in his debut year too!
