Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Does that mean he can play for WA in the U18 comp? :)

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

North Adelaide and the SANFL might not be happy, what with losing a certain draftee. But I don't think moving back to Perth will affect Simpson's draft chances at all.

The fact that he came over to Adelaide in part to further his football, has to be seen as a positive regardless of where he is now. Now that he has finished school, you can't blame him for going back to WA especially considering East Fremantle wanted him. Typically juniors get more senior game time in the WAFL than SANFL anyway.

And yes, Simpson will be able to play for WA again.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Simpson is playing Reserves for East Fremantle against South Fremantle in a scratch match today

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Heatherly looks good - hopefully he'll become the first grass-roots NZ draftee.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Nick Vlaustin should go top 20 this year. thats if he stays fit.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Heatherly for the Hawks is a talent.
As a NZ recruit he will be cheaper than a father son.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Lachlan Plowman will go very high. I think at least top ten. Vlaustin is a very good player and I think top twenty is pretty realistic.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Righto, I need some names for these numbers:

Oakleigh Chargers number 18 (ruckman)

Oakleigh Chargers number 20 (half forward)

Western Jets number 36 (key forward)

BTW, Luke McDonald is going to be a freak.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

#18 for Oakleigh is Chris Prowse - overage, 203cm ruckman..

Good skills and a natural palmer. Watch.

#20 for Oakleigh is Caleb Vearing - 188cm from Xavier College..

Very mercurial and hard at it. Looks a natural half forward.

#36 for the Jets is Spencer White - 194cm forward.

A serious marking talent but very lazy.

The Ranges/Chargers teams were a class above the Dragons/Jets sides on todays output.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Earlier In this thread I posted querying whether Jack Viney would be able to translate his game from juniors to seniors. After watching him play his first game for Casey seniors last week It's fair to say he's going to be fine. He only played a half due to managing his loads but his clearance work Is just amazing to watch, he's just extremely hard at the ball and man. Can't wait to get him to the Dees!

Top 10, easily.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

OHHH NO. I hope he plays badly so he becomes a late first rounder. I really him to land at Tigerland.

Then he won't be a Late 1st Rounder if he goes to Tigerland

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Off the top of my head, top tier would be McBean O'Rourke Plowman Jaksch Viney Daniher Vlastuin Haynes, in no particular order. Others will no doubt pop up over the course of the season, Prowse Hunter Brancatsiano Ong Mangioni Hetherington Honeychurch Hachem Atkins Conlon Bailley and White (if he pulls his finger out) are a few who could have a bit of potential to make a splash later in the year.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Who would be the best CHB/FB type in this draft. I assume we will have a pick in the top 10 and am wondering what kind of type would be available?

Also are there going to be plenty of quality mids in this draft or is it more a draft for talls?

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Kristian Jaksch
Chris Prowse
Fabian Brancatsiano
Kenny Ong
Christopher Mangioni
Sean Hetherington
Mitch Honeychurch
Daniel Hachem
Rory Atkins
Cameron Conlon
Darcy Bailey
Spencer White

Mind you, I don't know Oakleigh or Sandy very well this year, so I'm probably missing blokes who deserve a mention.

Re: 2012 Draft Prospects

Foxtel Cup on right now, Morningside vs Launceston...Jackson Thurlow (#12 for Launceston) is playing, I have him as someone that may get up and get drafted.

He'd want to do more in the second half.... :o 3 kicks, 0 marks, 0 handballs, 0 tackles so far...
