Lets hope it is just as minor as they are now saying and he will be right for late NAB and round 1.

Shouldn't affect season prep too much with drills now moving to skills and power rather than pure endurance and running work.

Isn't NAB CUp a month away. Fair enough not risking him going to Perth, but it sounds more serious than just a strain. But then I am a negative Nellie when it comes to our injuries. :(

Yeah and with the dud draw sending us to the Perth death group i don't see the club sending anyone risky/important for that long haul flight. He was definately running so I can't see it being a total tear or anything.. this is Hurley so I think it was probably in the cards not to play him until late NAB/round 1 anyway as he came off surgery and foot issues last year!

Chicken little thread, bloke has some hammy tightness (yes tightness and not a strain) and is put into cotton wool for 2 or 3 weeks in January.
Season starts at the end of March does it not........

Maybe because Essendon have a history of underplaying injuries to players?

I was told early in the piece last year that Pears' injury was a major concern at the club, a week later they release a statement saying it is a minor injury and more of a precaution. He ends up being out for half a season.

Obviously, all evidence suggests that the Hurley one is minor, given he was seen running, but you can understand people's concerns. It increases when it's Hurley.

Yes but it would be different if
A. It was late feb to mid march and
B. it was a hamstring tendon.

Both of us and a few others get some good inside info but at this stage unless it is, foot stress or hotspots, or back operations, or knee tendon strains and other slightly serious issues then it is not a hug e worry in Jan.

I understand their concerns but it is still part of the chicken little world we now live in where every piece of minor news seems to bring over the top responses.
Even in the media where things are so overly looked at it starts to bring out stupid predictions and comments round by round.

We should make a thread like the death list, except make it so you pick which Essendon players will get injured first and how bad.

It would the most popular thread on here as we'd visit it every week.

I know people are mucking around, but we've still had an incredible run with injuries so far this year, especially compared to our last 4-5 years.

If it stays at this level all year, we'll be laughin'.

Yet the season hasn't even started.

You can see how low our expectations are, when we are excited about only having half-a-dozen unavailable for round 1.
Other clubs think they are unlucky when they are missing 3 players for finals.

Got on the radio [Triple M] tonight after the bombers game:

Asked the boys what Geelongs Soft Tissues Issues were like the first few years with the Weapon before thier Preimerships

The answer was too hard for them to answer so Rucuitto just replyed Essendon were Skinny and Small two years ago now they are Big and that comes with great consequences from pushing it to the limit gettin that Big Quick

Reason i start this thread is does anyone know what their soft tissue injuries were like before the 3 premierships

I think we're just being cautious for now. One of the reasons the club accepted Crameri's suspension so quickly would've been so he could have had time to get over his soreness.
