Any word on Newman, Tunbridge and Mascoulis.
I know the second two played in week 1, but to not see any of them since was a bit frustrating I'll admit. Priorities I guess, not complaining against the performances or results, but anybody know why we didn't get them more of a crack (especially Newman).

Swannies, what's going on with Newman? I heard he had a cut on his arm a month or so ago. Must've been some cut.

After hearing Burns rave about his potential, he was one of the players I really wanted to see in the NAB. It's gotta be more then a cut.

With 3 weeks to go, I don't think the Eagles are in bad shape. A few may be missing for Round 1 probably, but there is a bit of depth now that we didn't have a couple of seasons back. Most players have had a decent hit out and most look pretty sharp. It is far better to be patient with injuries right now and not convert them into season-long problems. We should be highly compeititive right from the start, even if there are a few still getting niggles right come round 1. I wouldn't worry about Newman; he was never going to figure heavily this season - he will need to develop physically whilst playing a lot of WAFL this year (and maybe next as well).
yeah i heard from a member here about a dislocated finger?
i saw sheppard limping from the bench with one boot off, no ice though. it didn't look too bad, just looked a bit sore.
the boys that haven't been playing NAB cup have been playing WAFL practice matches, so maybe the club thought it would be better development wise for them to get a full match there instead of a quarter at afl? not sure....
Mascoullis hurt himself in a WAFL scratch Match two weeks ago and haven't heard anything about the type of injury since and Newman has a cut arm and I remember 12 months ago he had a major operation to mend a severed tendon in his wrist ,might be related but doubt it .

A pretty large group of players who may be available for this weekend. Hopefully nearly all are ok for round 1 against the doggies.

Naitanui is over in melbourne seems a little weird for a monday during pre-season. I just hope it's not complications with his shoulder.

Nicoski - Hamstring , most likely to miss Round 1
Scott Lycett - Hip
Dick - Set to ramp up training , with a mid season return likely with EF
Newman played for SD and was impressive , kicked a a goal or two in a half of football . Newman played forward and then moved midfield for a while .
