Any word if you guys are still into Stevens?

What's a fair trade from a doggies perspective?
from what i've picked up from the board there are two camps here

yes, he'd be handy, but only as a 4th rounder, but seems to have slipped behind Toy and Bell in the pecking order.

and the otherside

Hell no.

Who knows what management are thinking but a lot of the consensus has been we have enough of his type. I wouldnt be offering more than a fourth rounder which is no where near what hes worth and you guys will rightfully turn that down I wouldve thought.

Wonder if we'll nominate Daniher with pick 5 or 6? Or will we assume someone else will do it?
He'd be handy.
No way we'd get him of course.
Good point that I haven't seen mentioned yet. I think we should to keep the Bombers honest. It's not even a bluff, because if he was actually available we would take him.

Its probably a bit of a moot point though, hell will freeze over before the Dons dont jump at 10

Players value is relative to each club - so understand the whole "4th round" aspect.

Truth be told I would have though his value was around 40ish. But more likely from our perspective we'd be looking at upgrading picks.

the combine results have made for interesting reading.

the beep test Wines and O'Rourke did well, the standout was however a young lad named Clurey, a KPD, any thoughts about the kid, could be available with out 2nd rounder. Also Hogan made the top 13, was surprised, and impressed.

Stringer and Gartlett did well in the clean hands test, could be an indication they aren't fumblers

Stringer, Martin and Clurey all did well in the goal kicking. very good to hear.

Martin excelled in the kicking test.

Towers excelled in the jumping and sprinting. he appears to be athletically gifted. i wonder what his skills are like.

Good signs for our specualtions, interested to hear if anyone has anything more on Clurey. Also surprised not to see many of the high picks in the lists. about, Whitfield, Toumpas, Mayes etc.

Shit, if he was available then all clubs would take him in a heartbeat.

I was hoping (about 100 pages back) that we might be able to get Clurey with a second round pick. In my opinion KPD can have a tendency to slip in drafts. But after his combine results, there is no chance he'll fall to us. He is an elite kick, now he has shown that he has elite fitness and is a good shut down defender. Reckon he'll end up going top 15, 20 at worst.

Towers is a guy I would be interested in. Think he might be gone though. His excellent combine means he'll probably end up top 20-25. Wouldn't be surprised if he went to Collingwood at pick 18.

Love Clurey, Id have him on par with Tanner Smith as the second best key position defender behind Plowman. As a shutdown player there are better options but as a tall defender who can rebound the footy he is the best behind Plowman. Absolutley lovely footskills for a big man, pin points passes off half back and is able to zone off to get third man up. I think I talked him up for our second rounder somewhere in this thread, just as a point of difference to Talia.

Trade radio thinks picks 5 + 6 would get MD 1 + 2 (if we were interested).
I hope we can add pick 27, and they can add Jed Anderson, and I am sold on that.

Pity to miss-out on Stringer, but there are no assurances that he will still be around at pick 5 - would rather the birds (Martin and Hogan) in the hand...

I'd still rather pick 6 for Martin and that's the end of it. :p
If Stringer isn't at 5 it means Whitfield, Toumpas, Macrae etc will have to drop. I'm happy with pretty well anyone.

Clurey is a Key Pos Defender. Pretty sure both Knightmare and Chris25 have him going late first-rounder, and looks a bit doubtful that he'll get to pick 27. Would be a steal if he was available.

FWIW, I think Clurey kept Stringer goalless earlier in the year when Jake was playing FF, a very good shut-down defender indeed.

Not that I've watched him play, but from all reports - good closing speed, decent kick, just beats his man - bit of the Dale Morris' about him, albeit with a bit more height.
