Players value is relative to each club - so understand the whole "4th round" aspect.

Truth be told I would have though his value was around 40ish. But more likely from our perspective we'd be looking at upgrading picks.
some posters on your board have said "happy to get pick 87".

Pick 87 won't be used by us - so that would be a charity trade.

Stevens has his flaws (pace mainly) but I do think he has some value. By the sounds of it (media reports only) a number of clubs are interested in him.

Could also be a straight swap for a similarly positioned player like Cripps/Lucas

We'll swap him for Sherman. He will love the space over at Subi.

Jesse Hogan, 97kg, scored 14.2 on the beep test.
Also worth noting that he is only 193cm. Maybe just a fraction short for a modern day key forward?
We know he can beat up on skinny kids, but it will be interesting to see if he can mix it with the men.
Stringer is only 2cm shorter but being spoken about as a midfielder/3rd forward & Tom Boyd is 196cm.

TBOW Hogan is only 17 so he might still grow a few centimetres, ending up 194/195. So he'll probably end up as tall as "a modern day key forward".

He isn't my first option, but I wouldn't complain if we ended up with him.

News on Tom Bell:

Swann also confirmed that Carlton wants to keep young hard man Tom Bell, who debuted for the Blues towards the end of the season.
He said the club was still working out whether Bell would remain as a senior player or as a rookie.

Yeah I considered that. I was actually wondering whether the fact that he is 97kg means he has stopped growing or if that is completely irrelevant.
I'm not opposed to the guy at all I'm sure he will be a good player, I would prefer Boyd though ;)

Anyone else see this:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149203/default.aspx

The Western Bulldogs are favoured to snare the first selection in the mini-draft, which would almost certainly be used to recruit star WA midfielder Jack Martin.

List managers and recruiters expect the Bulldogs will hand GWS picks No.5 and No.6 in the draft in exchange for the first mini-draft selection and another draft pick or player.

Seems a high price to pay for kid that won't play for at least 18 months. Anything could happen between now and then. I don't care how good he is, I don't want this at all.

The only way this would work is if we somehow snagged Stringer with pick 20 or 24, but that's highly doubtful. Could all be journo non-sense I suppose.

Great News:
Lachlan Hunter has been nominated by the club, now let's hope we can snare him with one of our third rounders. This kid has got goal kicking abilities and is hard nut midfielder, should suit Maccas game style well. I can see him as a mid-size forward rotating midfielder. Go Dogs.

Yeah, I heard Swanns interview with KB on SEN this morning, he said Bell would be re-signed just working through the details, they have only a few spots free on their list and will be very quite in the F/A and Trade period. They are not after Jack Watts, Kurt Tippett or anyone else for that matter. He called in specifically to debunk all the current rumours.

I like the idea of a 3 way trade with Richmond GWS and us.
Richmond- Give- 1st+2nd round pick
Bulldogs - Give- picks 5+6+27+Tom Williams
GWS - Give- Dom Tyson, Jed anderson, MD1( Jack martin ) MD2 (Jesse Hogan)

Richmond - recieve - Dom Tysom
GWS - recieve - Picks 5+6+27+Richmonds 1st+ 2nd rounder + Tom williams

Gws on trade richmonds 1st pick to Bulldogs

Bulldogs- recieve- Richmonds 1st pick, MD1, MF2, Jed anderson

Highly doubt Williams will be traded.
pick 27 and Williams on top of our first two picks is way too much.
confident 5 and 6 would get us Anderson, Martin and another pick.
IanW isn't a list manager. Emma Quayle and John Pierik's article yesterday suggested 5 and 6 would likely be worth around anderson martin and pick 9.
What usually happens is people like Emma Quayle do their research and you get an interesting read during the week, and then later in the week afl.com.au puts out a dumbed down, speculative version of the article without any further research.
It's happened all year.
FWIW i'd take Martin and Jed for picks 5 and 6. But i think we'll get more than that especially based off yesterdays article (completely ignoring that stupid one from today... THE CLUB HAS STATED THEY WILL NOT GIVE PICKS 5 AND 6 FOR JACK MARTIN ALONE)
end of jibber jabber by me now, sorry for that guys

Does anyone know how international Rookie system work? Can clubs simply offer them contracts or do they have to be picked up in one of the drafts? Excuse the ignorance...
