We have 3 ruckmen on the list.
Tbell is 23, Ryder is 24 and Hille is 31.

I think Hille has maybe 1 more year left in him.
Why would we get rid of Tbell?
If we did, who is gonna replace him? Lovett-Murray?

I'll play with the Jetta thing......

If Hille re-signs, Jetta and TBell for Wellingham and Goldsack.

Let Monfries go to Adelaide if he so wants, Goldsack can fill his role which he's done well this season at Collingwood. He can also fill a hole down back if needed.

We'd then need to look into getting someone like Hannath from Central Districts as a backup ruckman who should be able to fill the void left when Hille goes in 12 months, plus rookie another ruckman. It'd also make Ryder number 1 ruckman which he desperately wants.

Give Colyer a shot on a flank or in a pocket to replace Jetta or, if we retain him, Reimers.

Just a thought.
I've thought about it and I've decided I don't want to give away an elite ruckman for an okay midfielder. Tbell if he was to be traded would be worth more than that, just like Ryder if you give him the rucking duties he will dominate, see Adelaide game against Jacobs, see North game against Goldstein.

Back on topic.

Jetta for Wellingham - Please do it - Wellingham would stiffen up our midfield and Jetta would be Ok as a small forward - Jette would push out one of Sinclair or Elliott.
I am with you brother. As per my previous post, we should throw in Hille as the free set of steak knives. I loved Jetta, but this year has show me that despite his obvious talent he is never going to be the player we want him to be.

Honestly, what would you be thinking if St Kilda gave Hawthorn McEvoy for Stratton & Breust?
If targetted at me, given St Kilda have no ruck depth at all and Hawthorn are short on defenders with any height plus St Kilda have plenty of small forwards, it is in no way comparable to what I was saying.

If you've read the last 30 or so pages of the thread, he is about the only bargaining chip we have.

Are people saying we should get rid of him? Not necessarily, but if we want to get a key player off another club he is almost the only bargaining chip we have of any serious value. It is why I have been pumping the tyres of Jack Hannath as a potential recruit more recently IF we were to trade TBell..... which I doubt we will.

From the Hawthorn end of the bargain, it's the same deal (near as dammit). Assume St Kilda had another ruck, and did that deal - it would give a contender a massive piece of a flag side, for not much that they've given away.

Point being, if you're going to trade a good thing to a contender, you want to get some serious bloody value. They're going to be more prepared to chase the short-term goal.

I mean, I kinda don't get how I still have to explain this, but you only put Bellchambers up for trade if discussions about his future are testy (and given we're already hearing about gws offering him a contract for 2014, it's likely this discussion is already happening) eg 'If i spend a notable amount of time in the reserves again i'm probably gonna sign that gws contract' (a slightly hyperbolic statement sure)

Good thing I am not involved in list management then. No harm in generating some discussion, but the fact that you posted the McEvoy thing so late after I thought the topic had died means it must've hit a nerve.

At least the suggestion was a pleasant reversal from the "Reimers and Slattery for Pendlebury" style that seem to be prevalant in these threads.

Does the same deal with Collingwood's 1st round pick change things, or do you thnk this would all of a sudden have Collingwood think they're paying overs?

I'm not so sure wanting to rip your own club off more than another club is more pleasant, but definitely a reversal.

Is Collingwood's 1st round pick likely to give them 150 games as a top-line ruckman starting from round 1 next year?

Bellcho would need an absolute, top-shelf value trade. Top-5 ish pick or one of their top ~8 players.

Throwing him out (with another player) for a couple of mid-career B-graders would be utterly stupid - it'd go a long way to getting them 16.

Jetta for Wellingham is a laugh. No one would fall for that.
No way would i throw T-Bell in there. Is Wellingham one of those players that looks better in a better team?
Giving away a ruck when 31 yo Hille is to become a free agent would be crazy.
