The talk is hit fitness is more than sub par. Couple that with the fact that while he is an inside mid, he isn't a nathan jones esque brute. And you get someone neeld doesn't like.

Does anyone rate Kane Lucas?
I'd say fitness levels and workrate are probably the same problem but yeah, a lazy player probably isn't Neeld's favourite type. If you could get a proper pre-season into him under a tough bastard of a coach like Eade or maybe Buckley he'd do well I'd say. I reckon Hirdy's got a bit of CU next Tuesday about him as well.

One played good games the other didn't derr and if u want to play that game look to still Who we delisted 2 years ago idiot
Did we delist "Who" or "still"? Confused with these capitals?

Ease up mate. I disagreed with the Still delisting at the time, particularly because he was also taken as a 17yr old.

And what I can't seem to fathom is why he was moved to defense? I agree I thought he was good last year in the forward line, with his goal tally certainly proving this. People say he was moved to defense because of a shortage there for us? Go recruit a defender. The guy is not a defender. Sure, he tries quite hard in that area, but he's roughly average @ VFL level in that spot. I know we have a love of switching players, and I know it was only his first year in defense, but he's a forward, and a forward only. Put him back there or get rid of him.

Like I said, was a fan of him last year, but feel free to point out those multiple "good games" from this season.

Occasionally coaches like to play fledgling forwards in defence for a little bit as a part of their development. So they can see what real forwards running patterns and stuff are like, to show whats required, and to see things from the other perspective. Could it be just a development exercise? or a genuine push for him to be a defender?

Fair point, and like I said, I know we do have a love of players switching ends. And I unfortunately missed what was one of our televised games late in the year, but apparently Steinberg played forward again? In which case I can live with it. As long as the intention is still for him as a forward, I can bid him a bit more time.

it's pretty hard to recruit a defender during a season. and with midfielders and defenders dropping every game, forcing bendigo and essendon defenders alike upfield, it would have been pretty silly to play 6 pure bendigo players in the bendigo back-line. it was an insurance plan, as well as helping his development too. i really don't get why it's a big deal.

does anyone think Jetta would actually kick on at another club or continue to frustrate? kick up the arse can help occasionally...
A really good question.

Think Jetta would fit into a club that suits his style of play - And one that demands he rotates through the midfield - Collingwood would be a good fit.

Interesting that Power may be interested in Dyson - Played a very good game against Power - He is a good kick which Power needs - I want to keep Dyson but no way we could match Power's offer - Especially when Power is allegedly paying Boak 650K pa.

I notice that Clinton Young is still on the list.

The more I think about it, we aren't going to do anything (again) in trade week. Hird has hinted at it - we just don't have enough chips to play with. Hooker, Pears, Second rounder won't do it. This would mean Caddy off the table.

Free agency, we are more of a shot but not according to the papers: Carlisle is going to Richmond (apparently) & 'Essendon has cooled on Moloney.' The rest, we aren't a shot at getting or it's just a shuffle of the schizentrucks.

Monfries (depending on value) could see what he's worth as a free agent.

Toy would be a lot cheaper, and is a realistic possibility for us.

This issue is that Steinberg is so far down the list of forwards he either adds the versatility of being able to play back or he probably doesn't play.

I'd say even O'Brien has gone past him now meaning that Steinberg is behind basically all the key and mid sized options on our list. He also doesn't have the body required to play his natural forward game at AFL level.

I think I can see what the coaches see (it is no secret he has graceful movement and great balance for a guy who is 6'3 that suggests he is a fairly special talent) and it is certainly worth rounding out his game to see if he can become one of those valuable utilities that every team wants.

Look at our depth in taller players (there isn't any) - necessity that he be able at both ends.

Definitely will help him along the way as well.

He will be a pretty big boy IMHO, 6'3" or so = very good size.
If we could wangle him reasonably cheaply, we definitely should have a crack.

I've been pretty impressed with what I've seen from him. Massive man, can he ruck/play kpd? Or is he a pure forward?
The question I've got is 'can he play anything?'

They tried to play him as a ruck in our NAB cup game against them in 2011. He just didn't. Can't be a super-talent if he was behind Kosi/Walsh/Stanley for a game, IMHO.

But hey, I do think we need a last-pick-in-the-draft-depth KPP whichever way we go, so...

Think you are 100% wrong on this, Collingwood rely on roll over defense and zone footy in their game plan and Leroy is one of the worst we have at it. He is not the sharpest tool in the shed and struggles to play structured footy.
