I don't want Jacobs
but Gumby can go for pick 20 to Melb and Adelaide can have Pears for pick 22.

The difference is Goddard has had an elite season or 5....Sylivia has had a purple patch month, that is it. He is not that good. Just no thanks, would rather target good players.
 
He'd be the 4th tagged in the team as opposed to the first tagged out, I think that'd make a large difference too.
Most teams know he cannot handle a tag, but people also know that Stanton needs one.

I think a midfield rotation of Watson, Stanton, Zaharakis, Sylvia, Goddard, Howlett and Hocking could be VERY potent. Mind you, I guess he's often used at HFF too.

It would also mean that Melksham, Myers, Jetta and other inconsistent mids would be forced to perform or go back to VFL.

Pears for pick 21 (sydney) or 22 would be beautiful for us. Please Jake Stringer (yeah I know, no chance, but I can dream lol)

Tag or not, he is just not that good. He very rarely accumulates large numbers and I am not paying 400K for a guy who is on the wrong side of 28 on a notion that he "might"make it.

Honestly I would say 2-4 years. 2 would be a realistic aim to be in the top 4, Probably will take another 2 to get from the top 4 to the flag. We need to win one while Watson is around.
 
We need to get in before GC and GWS become unbeatable, picking up a 26-27 year old or two isn't the worst idea at the moment IMO of we want our window to open the season after next.

GWS and GC will not be unbeatable, heck GC won't win one for 6+ years as their side is fairly average having blown draft picks. GWS I agree, but it will take 8 years for them minimum. Our window is fine we don't need Sylvia, I would rather draft good kids.

All you have to do is change the "3" in his age and change it to a "2", that's his real age.

Doubt it actually, but maybe. Mind you Viney is daylight robbery at 26. That said we are getting the no1 player in the draft at 10, we should be happy

Have previously posted that if we are challenging for the flag that Howlett will be the 22nd or 23rd player.

Assuming a time period of 3 years.

Eagles premier has summed it up - Hooker is a no 2 key defender as I have argued since the end of the year - Happy to go with Carlisle as our number 1 defender and back up from Fletcher.

No point getting Stevens to sweeten a deal.
