I would say that Jones, and Trengove improved this year, am sick of people complaining about his form. he looked slow in the legs, Big preseason anyone? but killed it in tackles, and pressure acts, was top 3 for disposals and about top 5 for kicks..... when he gets his hands on the ball a bit more and adjust to the training i think he will become a very complete player.

Howe through the middle, although he hasnt played their before so who knows?

Blease definitely did imo, but he is only getting his first good run at it.

Grimes, but he has always had it.

I'm in no way convinced Royal should stay or not, but its a bit harsh to blame him for all of this, we had a totally new game plan, a team with a shocking fitness base, and we had two of our physically strongest midfielders not buying into the new game plan for large parts of the year, Moloney and Sylvia. We also finished virtually bottom of the ladder, so no surprise most stats will be terrible.

It would seem the midfielders with the right attitudes made at some significant improvements this year though, Jones, Grimes, McKenzie and Howe. Magner started well, but got moved to a different role, presumably due to fitness issues. Trengove clearly struggled all year with fitness, and yes you would keep playing your injured captain, particularly when experience is vital to his development, if playing on would not cause further injury. Sylvia's attitude and form improved in the later parts of the season. Moloney is gone. Bate is probably gone.
Bit harsh on Sylvia I reckon. Gotta remember he had a pretty bad back injury right at the end of the preseason. His 'poor form' was just him not quite being fully fit. Once he regained his fitness he was great for the last part of the season.

Moloney GONE
Jurrah GONE
Bate HAS TO GO
Jetta HAS TO STAY
Bennell HAS TO GO
Petterd HAS TO GO (UNFORTUNATELY)
Green GONE
Cook IF WE DON'T RATE HIM, THEN CUT HIM LOOSE
MacDonald KEEP
Lawrence GONE
Evans HAS TO GO - CAN'T STAY FIT
Couch HAS TO GO - DIDN'T PERFORM WHEN GIVEN A CHANCE
Bartram HAS TO GO - BODY NO GOOD
Fitzy/Davis - Resign as rookie perhaps? Draft some better talent....

Agree above except for;
Jetta line ball, would lean towards keeping Petterd but i think he has a moloney-esuqe attitude
Joel Mac - delist
Bartram - i think one more year to see if he can get his knee right
Fitzy - keep on the main list he really improved last year
Davis - i don't reate him but maintain worth maintaining on the main list

I think we will look at upgrading Nicholson and/or manger to fill senior spots on list and replace them on the rookie list with some youngsters through the rookie draft.

The amount of delistings will depend on the how many players we aquire through FA and then how many players/ picks are brought in during the trade period.

You're suggesting ten players off the main list? I know we're shit, but that's such a stretch...

For what it's worth, Cook will stay, and we wouldn't even contemplate putting Fitzpatrick/Davis on the rookie list - that relies on everyone else passing them up through the ND and the RD up to wherever we select them.

Why not we arguably have the worst list in the comp? We retain as many as we can?

Jurrah, Green Moloney gone, Rivers most likely Cook and Gysberts look to be moving on, there is 6 already before even get rid of the blokes who aren't upto it.

Yeh that's a fair call, though during the mid part of the season a lot of us were paying out on him for generally looking disinterested at times, a good finish to the season doesn't forgive all, but yes his injury was definately an issue for him.

That's true. I was also of the belief mid season that he was disinterested and was expecting him to leave at seasons end, especially after the Sydney fiasco. But upon reflection I think that was mainly due to a lack of match fitness. Sylvia had a week off after that match and looked a totally different player when he returned. In my opinion he just needed that extra week to get his body completely right.

For me, Jetta's retention may well rest on Bartram's knee.

I'd have him playing on the small forward/pushing up into midfield types, which is Bartram's current role. When he went down, there was almost no-one to play this role for us.

Yeah, Bennell's probably receiving an extension.

Hello, I've been looking at a few teams that should have interesting off-seasons for whatever reason (Dogs, Essendon and Adelaide are also in a position where they could have some list changes/interesting trades).

So I put together a bit of an analysis into each list, potential draftees etc.

Couple of notes:
1) I assumed GC didn't go all out for Viney so Melbourne were able to pick him up after the first round
2) I'm a bit unsure on Joel Macdonald, Neville Jetta (thought dropping him was harsh but I have seen barely any of him so thought it wouldn't be a travesty to drop him), Matthew Bate and the rookie list.
3) As this took a lot of time to research (draftees and profiles) I was a bit light on thinking up my potential trades, thought for a little bit for each one so most likely posters will believe the trades are overs/unders for Demons. Apologies.

According to our homepage, we are sniffing around trying to get Dawes.

Yeah I just read that as well. FFS what is the club doing?

We are also still looking at getting Caddy and Wellingham.

Is anybody under the assumption should we get Pederson that he would be a walk up start in our lineup?

Fantastic effort on the write-up Liam, for someone who is not a demon supporter thats pretty damn spot on. Word is though that Cook, Morton and Bate will not be in our lineup in 2013

Sounds like we're just playing our hand as close as we can without giving anything away.

Honestly it doesn't sound like we are linked to anybody so far, we sniffed at the big Q and Byrnes is lurking as a potential Dee, but i'd say he's just suggesting that there is no reason we shouldn't at least look at any available players. At the moment it seems we won't top last years effort of luring a big fish but a few little ones probably won't hurt either

We're hardly going to cut a player before list lodgement one - and before the trade period.
Every other club (almost) has. Bennell wouldn't crack a game in any side in the league.

I'm not sure about that, 15 Jamie Bennell possesions is as good as pretty much any other defender in the league. The only problem is his defensive game and not having the confidence to get the pill. I would think their would be another club out there who would pick him up. Besides the pies did pick up Simon Buckley after we delisted him.

When did he last get 15 touches?

Averages 10 over the journey and 5 last season.
