I have been wanting to see this for the last 5 years.

All the Pea Hearts have now been moved on (Jetta very luck IMO)

Couch not AFL standard but would be stiff to be delisted after winning the Caset BF and coming second in the Liston even though he missed 5 games.

Anyone suggesting we delist Fitzy or Evans is just nuts. And don't tell me it's because they haven't played senior footy this year... Please.

Jamar, Gawn, Clark, Spencer > Fitzy in the ruck IMO... Clark, Dawes, Pederson > Fitzy up FWD IMO... Dawes, Pederson: Fitzy in the ruck IMO...

Sometimes trying hard and being a good team player is good enough, but when there are that many who are better than you that you are simply wasting a squad spot, then it is time to go..

I would love to be proved wrong, but I don't believe I will be...

Have you actually watched him at Casey??? I have and he really impacted lots of games there. He came third in Casey's BF and kicked 29 goals playing limited time in the forward line due to playing in the ruck. He is an awesome athlete, who is 1/2 years away from having a body that will allow him to compete at AFL level.

He is not just a tryer and a good team player. He is an exciting talent the club will let develop.

The only depressing aspect of all this is to truly see how badly we stuffed up our rebuild back at the end of 2007. We expected, by now, to be playing finals footy and in the end we went nowhere. What an amateur club we were.

Will play if he forces his way into the team. Maybe at the expense of Pedersen, possibly if Dawes keeps spudding it up. I expect players to play if they're in better form than the bloke in their position.

I won't argue that he will play some games but he won't play alot unless there are injuries or someone is in a horrendous run of form.

I like the fact he is still on the list as I think, deep down, that he is the type of player Neeld likes and he works hard. Just think he is very far back in the pecking order and is still some time away from making an impact at AFL level. But happy to persist with him.

I actually get pretty bloody sick and tired of people on here using the "have you watched him play at Casey" in a condascending manner. Just because you have posted more than me on Bigfooty doesn't actually make you a more astute judge of talent than me automatically, nor does it reflect the level I go to support my team. It probably just means you have a lot more spare time on your hands than I do.

Yes, I have watched him play for Casey, quite a lot actually. I think he is very good at that level. But then again, so is Tom Couch, and Troy Davis. With Couch & Fitzy, when they have been given an AFL opportunity, they have proven to be not quite up to it, in terms of positioning and reading their opponent.

Couch is a ball magnet at VFL level but fails to rack up anywhere near the same numbers at AFL level.

How many years do we need to keep persevering with these types before we realise that ruthlessness is required? At least neeld is starting to take some positive steps in regards to the list cull.

For most clubs the question is "will this bloke help us challenge for a premiership", and if the answer is no, get rid. For us, the question is "will this bloke consistently get into a Melbourne 22 that will win games at AFL level, and try and challenge for the top 8 and some respect". The answer is, in the case of Couch, Fitzy, Davis & Evans, no, in my opinion.

Now I may be proven wrong, and I will be delighted if I am, but I am entitled to my opinion...

That's the dumbest thing you have ever read? Wow. I read some pretty bloody stupid things on here daily. "What an amateur club we were" is today's best at a very quick glance, because it implies that everything is going to plan now...

My point was that the number of posts you have written does not actually relate to whether you have gone to watch your team's reserves play.

Just because I disagreed with his rating of Fitzy, he ran with the condescending "Have you actually watched him play at Casey???" question and then proceeded to tell me a number of figures that anybody who knows how to operate Google could have found, and his point that he was impressed with his work at Casey. Which he is more than entitled to, as it is his opinion, and I'm not disputing his right to say that, just saying I disagree.

There is a trend on here for the more frequent posters to often knock back or demean those who don't contribute that often on the basis that you know more because you post more often. Knickers aren't in a twist buddy, let's just not jump on people who quite possibly know as much or more than you do because you are unfamiliar with them

Why are you obsessed with how many posts someone has? S39 didn't mention it, just said he had seen him play at Casey. I think you're just a bit touchy my friend. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether or not they have 1 post or 20,000. It has nothing to do with it but the only person who seems worried by it is you.

So correct me if I'm wrong but do we have 5 spots on our list free? I would like us to use picks, 4, 49, 53, upgrade Nicholson and Magner, and have a selection in the pre season draft (either Jacobs or Toy). So for that to happen we will need another delisting.

We actually have 6 spots free atm - Ive updated the OP. I forgot about the extra veteran spot being used next year under the new format of 40 senior list players. We only had 1 veteran this year hence a senior list of 39 and 7 rookies. Next year it will be 40 senior regardless of number of veterans plus 4 rookies.

So we have that extra space you are after.

I think we should Upgrade Nicholson and Magner, Does anybody know what happened to couch?, is he still playing next year? From what I have seen he dominates the V.F.L but not sure how much impact he will have at A.F.L level.
