I get the whole wanting to be loyal, but yeah I just can't see it working out for him. I'd be happy to eat my words later though.
Depends entirely on the deal.

I like him, he can play, and I'd be loyal as long as I could....
right up until we got a very good offer (top 25 picks or so).

I wouldn't trade him for pick 50 though.
Not worth it.

I suspect the club views him as a bit more valuable. Ess are very conservative in regards to list management, probably too conservative.

i know that.. u have someone like lynch and cameron.. they look like they have potential
ur right tho, time will tell

Look at Travis Cloke, was a spud for his first 5 years, now regarded as one of the best forwards in the game the last 2 years or so.

Being new isn't the issue, the fact you thought that's how you thought you spelt his name is. You don't read newspapers or online football material? Cloke is everywhere, super simple stuff lol.

...What??

Also, here is a question.
Is there a precedent for a player (In this case Caddy) who has said that they are going to make up their mind at the end of the year in regards to a contract and actually stayed with their original club? The two high profile players, Ablett and Scully, both said that they would wait until the end of the year and then revealed that they were leaving. I would be interested to see if there are any. Also, Dixon hasn't re-signed yet either has he?

bballscout being a bit moody it seems. Not sure what the deal is, but he just got a holiday for trolling on the Demons board.

You're all good, Scotty_222. We knew who you were talking about. :)

Dixon has yet to re-sign, but they are in constant negotiations with the Suns working out a new deal. I'm not worried about him.

Also, there are plenty of players who wait until the end of the year before re-signing. In fact, I would pin the majority of them do this. Simply because they don't want to be distracted by it, or want a better offer at the end of the year, where they have shown what they have to offer. Remember that most of our re-signings took place in the off-season of last year.

Heading to the Demons board to see if there are any lulz to be had. (or have the offending posts been deleted already?)

I would think that as far as opportunities go, you would want to make sure that you have a contract before the last one expires to secure your future. The fact that he is holding out suggests that he is waiting until the end of the year to make the announcement of the move so that he can get as much game time as possible. I will be genuinely surprised if he stays.

Hine's game on the weekend has sealed his fate id say. Unfortunate but made stupid decisions and would be on the definite delistees list now...

Hine definitely plays his best footy at home, think back to the game against North, he was pretty good but the following week against WCE was terrible. Once again he was pretty good against Sydney but had a poor performance on the weekend. A bit harsh to be criticising the guy after only 5 games, but in saying that I wouldnt be to disappointed if we traded him, he would have reasonable value especially if bundled with someone like Toy.

I think you will find Hine holds no currency...

3rd rounder at best and that is a pick we wont be using anyway. We would use him as a pick upgrade, thats if anyone wants him that is. Eg: We give Hine and pick 40 for pick 35.

I hope we hold onto Hine, he could turn out to be alright with a few more games under his belt. Needs to impove his disposal efficiency and decision making, but I love his hard attack on the ball which is something the Suns lack a bit at the moment.

I feel like Hine and Tape are just fighting over the same position in the team, and given the option of both I would take Tape everyday of the week.
plus seb is relentless.. hard at it, weight till he puts weight on his frame.. will be an awesome player

I think Weller and Hine are fighting for that pockety posy , not tape , Seb is 10 cm taller than Hine.

Give me Hine anyday over Tape. Never been completely sold on Tape and he was gifted many games where Hine was never given that luxury. Hine has done it the hard way. I am sure if Hine had played as many games as Tape he would be a very handy player.

Wouldn't mind us throwing Brent Maloney a lifelIne. Get him on the cheap and is one of Melbournes few top players. In a good age group and a great hard mid who can find the goals. Would fill Caddys void mid term should he move on and offers depth.

Could be a straight swap trade for Toy?
