Blocked from what???

Keep the thread on topic its only the second time I've asked this.

No need to tell me what do at all

I believe meltiger blocked me. I asked him why. Also there is no reason for you to insult the users on this board. This isn't bay 13. Your a mod, lead by example.

There is no level playing fields in the AFL, NRL, NBA, English Super League and A-League. The Salary Cap is there just to make the top team to turn like the Top 4 in the English Premier League. It is just share the wealth and players.

Come off it meltiger, I am still crying that Brett Kimmorley going to the Northern Eagles in 2001. I am still upset that Matt Orford(Not much he owes me money and left on Bad Terms apparently) leave the Club.

I will never support Salary Cap concessions for any club. Look at Brisbane 3 Premiership in a row for a extra 10% and Sydney a extra 5%. That is equivlent on a top class player in the AFL back then.

I am sick of We are still recovering from SL crap. I am fed up with the RL fans and espically fans from Sydney who said Melbourne was created and is directly related to kill off Perth and Adelaide.

SL planned to have the Melbourne club to come in at Super League first Season however did not have the income to get the club started.

Look at the Basket Case of English Rugby League. There British Amateur Rugby League are not moving to Summer Rugby from winter Rugby.... 18 years since Super League.

I am bitter about SL as well but You would not have the 40/20, Video Ref and the attacking players skillful players since.

The ARL had already planned to have a Melbourne team in the comp just before the SL war started, they put in Perth, Nth QLD, Auck and SQLD, the next team around 98-99 was to be the Melbourne Monarchs or something similar.

Had Balmain completely given up on the relocation idea?

I know we cancelled one of our games here in 1994 (against your mob if memory serves) the idea may have been scrapped then.

For those who never heard of this, there was an idea of Balmain relocating and basing themselves out of Punt Road. How far advanced the plan was I don't know. Certainly after those 94 games, we rebadged as "Sydney" & moved to Parrascum Stadium.

So Melbourne was always on the Leagues agenda, even if a team hadn't yet been specifically granted.

There's a bit of stuff all about the proposed Melbourne team and mergers/relocations in one of the reports that came out after the war (google Super League war). Bit of a read though.

Good win by the Sharks, especially considering the financial strife that the club is in. I mean they couldn't even afford enough uniforms for all their team, so some of them had to wear pink shirts. Still not sure why they were carrying whistles though...

</sarcasm>

Seriously though, I wonder how much it costs to buy a game these days? When it gets to the point that the Sharks got a penalty and the commentary team (who were riding the Sharks nuts all game) say "I have no idea what that penalty was for", then you know that the game has become a joke.

Quinn is a spud. Would be more than happy to send him on his way.
Unfortunately, the NRL is light years behind the AFL in allowing nonheartland clubs extra salary cap space to retain players.
AFL gives extra allowances to Brisbane and Sydney to retain players, but yet the archaic NRL won't do the same.
I know I will cop criticism for saying this, but I couldn't give a stuff.

That would give non-heartland teams a way too unfair advantages over teams who just happen to be situated in heartland areas.

The loss we had to have, I guess.

Far be it for me to question Craig Bellamy, but I felt that when Vave and Proctor were ruled out that replacing them with Kostjasyn and Quinn was a big mistake. Our bench just lacked any grunt and creativity.

Hoffman, Lowrie and Hinchcliffe are enough small forwards/workhorse types. No need to add 2 more...

Agree with all of it. I do not rate Kostjasyn( I prefer Hinchcliffe on the bench) and Quinn is a huge risk as he can not play in any other position apart from Winger.

Bellamy actually handled the question over Slater's sin binning quite well IMO. No whinging over what was a ridiculous decision.

He took a man out who had the chance to plant the ball down for the try. There was a little doubt on the professional foul but No chance on the Penalty Try.

He done twice this year and it is starting to get on my nerves with that.

Official line.

Did the referees make the right call to sin-bin Billy Slater after making contact with Jeff Robson during a kick chase? What is the fullback entitled to do in this situation?

This was definitely the right call. Billy Slater was not running the line of the ball, he is running to deliberately take out Sharks halfback Jeff Robson. It was a try-scoring situation and a professional foul. Slater had to go to the sin-bin for that.

You are allowed to go shoulder-for-shoulder to compete and jostle for the ball, but you have to be going towards the ball. Slater’s line is not towards the ball, it is towards the player. This is why he was penalised.

Not concerned one tiny bit about the loss. We are 9-1.
The Sharks were treating this game as their litmus test in front of a packed house at home. Good on them. They played well and did it without Gallen. They deserved the 2 points. But if this match is played in September, even with Gallen back in, we will win every single time.
The real season starts after the rep season and we will finish top 4 anyway, probably top 2.

Yeah definitely a sin bin. Cronulla player was never going to get to it though.

This is the key for mine.

In that situation, how do you determine he wasn't impeded from scoring a try, but was impeded from reaching the football?

End of the day though, they played poorly and lost by 2 points. As most have said ... meh

Unblocked or Tapatalk:D

Often this year we have played very loose football. Slater plays with such FIGJAM sometimes.

I'm sure Bellyache would be rather unhappy of our performance and the boys will know it.

I dislike the phrase 'the loss we had to have' but based on how they were playing on Sunday perhaps there's an element of that in there. The boys are capable of much better - better to have a mid-season reality check to one in the finals though. Should rebound nicely against the Broncos.

If i remember rightly, it was going to be home games at Leichhardt and away games in Melbourne. Like that was ever relly going to work:rolleyes::D
