I think we might be the only team that's actually under the salary cap.
Oh, Parra is as well. There's no way they can be that shit and be over the cap.

Nope over and shit.

The Eels were one of four teams, along with Gold Coast Titans, Penrith Panthers and Canberra Raiders, to be fined for salary cap indiscretions on Friday.
Parramatta were slugged for more than $80,000, with the Titans hit with a $41,000 penalty.

Those penalties the 4 clubs copped were for last year.

Technical breaches every club cops at times.

Then I await the next fine they get for this year.

They added Sandow on over 500k and a few others. Who have they got rid of?

They had a number of players who they had signed retire. Whether they were on big money or not? Who knows.

Every club gets stung by these types of penalties, including Melbourne.

We've talked in the past on here about how a club like Melbourne in particular can suffer through no fault if their own.

I hate technical breaches. What Canberra/Canterbury/Melbourne did is one thing but injury payments, rep bonuses etc are silly.

We see clubs go over because if the latter two more often than anything and would you really label it cheating?

Hypothetical - Hinchcliffe gets selected for game 1 & that triggers a rep bonus his contract may have had, & this puts them over.

Two weeks ago, let alone last year when contracts were done would anyone think he would play SOO?

Melbourne would get fined, but in no way would it be classed as cheating.

Silly silly system.

Nine on the trot. Sweet!

Next three will be challenging - Sharks, post-Origin Broncos and Warriors away. A win against the Panthers is great, but I'm excited to see how the boys perform against some very solid teams.

3 out 3?

what make it better is that we are under the salary Cap.

Bring on 10.

but then whats to stop Storm offering Greg Inglis a Pittance offer but a Giant Rep bonus that isnt in the cap?

But I see what your saying, teams shouldn't have to accomodate for having high rep bonuses, especially if they have no choice on whether their team gets picked or not.

I was stoked to see the boys win for the 9th time this year, but I woils love to get down to Melbourne and see a game in person. Is anyone interested in catching up and going to a game? If so, which game(s)? I'd prefer to see one with our boys at full strength, rather than missing our best players for State of Origin. Also, how much am I looking at price-wise for a decent ticket?

Bye, bye Inu I would think.

Storm centre Nielsen signed by Vodafone Warriors

Melbourne Storm and Queensland Origin centre Dane Nielsen will join the Vodafone Warriors on a three-year contract after the 2012 NRL season.

The Mackay-born 26-year-old excelled in 2011 when he twice played for the Maroons – including the series-clinching third match – and has again been a key contributor for the unbeaten Storm this year, notably scoring a double in their 32-14 Anzac Day win over the Vodafone Warriors at AAMI Park.

This really wasn't a good way to start the day. With that said, where do we go from here next season? Does Quinn or Blair come into the starting lineup? Or do we call up someone else or look to sign someone else? Also, what positions do we play these guys in?

Will likely lose Sika Manu as well.

If we clear out Nielsen, Lowe, Blair, Quinn, Lowrie, Kostjasyn, Greenfield and Kelly, should hopefully be enough to keep Manu.

Must retain Norrie, next re-signing priority. Fonua too would be handy to secure.

Honestly, that wouldn't phase me too much. Maybe I am under-valuing some of those guys, but I just feel that Manu is, and will be, a game breaker for us. From that list, I would be slightly hesitant to lose both Blair and Quinn, given that we have already lost Nielsen and need one of those two to fill his role in the starting team. Lowrie is the only other guy that I would worry about losing, as I think he's a solid player and I'd like to see him stick around. However, I don't know much about our young prospects/junior players (so maybe someone who does know can give their thoughts), so maybe we have some kids who have the talent and/or are ready to come in and fill the gaps that would be left by Blair, Quinn and Lowrie.

Quinn is struggling to get in the winger spot and what make it worse is that he make stupid errors when he get a go.. He is a person I feel that bring pressure on himself by doing silly thing that cost penalties. He was like that at the Knights

I was disappointed with Blair last season at the storm. I thought he had great potential but it really flatlined and he has been struggling at the Tigers

I am glad o'neil is staying, A up and Coming Winger which to me reminds me of a bit like Matt Geyer on the wing. He is not pacy compared to Duffie or Does not Jump as high as Duffie but he is a defensive game is very good on the wing.

I hope Norrie stays as he has been soild front rower but with Ryles having a great start from off the bench and young Bromich being a potenial player.

Quinn is a spud. Would be more than happy to send him on his way.
Unfortunately, the NRL is light years behind the AFL in allowing nonheartland clubs extra salary cap space to retain players.
AFL gives extra allowances to Brisbane and Sydney to retain players, but yet the archaic NRL won't do the same.
I know I will cop criticism for saying this, but I couldn't give a stuff.
