Pretty much sums it up and summed up how the match went on Sunday.
Why Vave got another contract remains a mystery to me.
Wait a minute, you agree we have a forward pack that is too small yet you're having a go at the only bloke who is young, big and talented and not named Jesse Bromwich?

Talented was your word not mine.

Take it out and your logic is still flawed. Norrie, Lowe and Ryles are in their last season or 2 at the Storm. And you want Vave gone too? And at the same time we're too small. Righteo :thumbsu:

Big doesn't mean good. He misses too many tackles and drops too much ball.
Yes, I want him gone to be replaced with someone who can actually play. If that is flawed logic in your eyes, then that's your problem.

Vave is a hack.

The weekend game saw the Bulldogs play at there absolute best and our worst.

Not too worried tbh. The bye will be good and once origin is over we can get back to top form.

With Kenny Bromwich re-signing I wonder what the plan is for him....Could he get big enough to take over the Sika Manu role?

Who should we recruit as props then? You do realise we cannot afford 17 world class players to fill up our side with now that Waldron has gone. In terms of value for money (he is on peanuts) and given the short amount of time he has spent at the club, I'm really happy with what he has produced so far. Yes, his last 2 weeks haven't been great but if you think he is a hack (as pantskyle put it) I'd love to know who of the out of contract props are better options for next year than him.

We are about to sign Newcastle prop Richie Fa'aoso on a short term deal for the rest of the year.

Very keen to hear what you guys think of that, given you don't rate Vave :D
The last time we signed a Newcastle player midseason, we won a premiership*.:)

*yes, yes I know it doesn't count.

That was my reaction when I read you boys calling Vave a hack. They BOTH can play, not much between them.
I stand by my call that Vave is no good at the moment.
But I did say the same about Kevin Proctor this time last year as well.

To be honest, it gets a bit frustrating when I hear supporters criticise Bellamy's recruitment of players. He just does not make mistakes. Over a near decade at the club, his record is so impeccable, that he deserves any benefit of the doubt.

How many 'hacks' has he recruited and then played on a regular basis during his time at the Storm? Obviously our definitions of "played on a regular basis" will differ, but he just doesn't pick duds. Not saying he hasn't recruited shit players, but he doesn't give new contracts to "hacks".

Anyway, enough on that subject from me. I wonder if Fa'oso will go straight into the 17 next game? I wouldn't mind him taking Norrie's spot. I loved him the last 2 years, but his output has definitely dropped.

We always struggle though against big physical packs. Always have. We seem to lack dominate prop that isn't at the end of his career, an aggressive 2nd rower and a dynamic forward off the bench that can cause damage.

He will actually take Vave's spot.

Billy Slater out & Dane Nielsen in for Origin decider ... I am disappointed for Billy but we have a premiership to win in 3 months time ;)

Any updates on Chambers?

Thought Richie Fa'aoso would be named this week.
Chambers will probably be gone for the season mate.

Using Wells as an example, and I don't know how similar their cases are, but he was on blood thinners for 6 months and at training could not take ANY body contact. Otherwise he would have bled out internally. He wore a special fluro top at training so other players knew who he was and didn't bump or tackle him. If Chambers is on the same treatment, his year is done. Most of Wellsy's time on the blood thinners was over the off-season.

Fa'aoso will probably spend a week or 2 in our feeder club first. Chambers himself did this too, you may recall.
