Yeah, I can't see that either. You can only assume he was scared of being pushed into touch-and-goal by the defender, but it looked like he had plenty of room.

Yep pretty much. His instructions would have been to bat the ball back to team mates waiting for the bat back. Not something i like in our game but it is what it is.

Well he is a winger and by bellyaches response I doubt that was the instructions.

Probably our flattest performance for the year, we were absolutely smashed. Nowhere near 10k bunnies fans (serves me right for believing what I read on facebook.)

Mind you the 1-2k that were there made a heap of noise and the atmosphere in the burrow was great.

I watched the replay (again) today and I don't think he is 100% confident in himself yet. I also don't think it would have been easy to cross the line either had he not batted it back. I know he showed supreme confidence with that last play vs Cronulla, but I think in general he is still coming to terms with the fact that he is good enough. Would be tough for a shy Fijian to try and be confidnet with the likes of Slater, Smith and Cronk running around leading the show.

Then drop him.

If he isn't confident now at the most important part of the season then don't play him. We can't afford him doing that in a PF or a GF.

Yeah let's drop him.

How can you think any other way. If he did that in the GF and it cost us the game you would be calling for his head.

All I'm saying is that he better be 100% confident and he should be. He has been playing for us for what 2 seasons now?

My god, you're serious.
You want to drop one of our few attacking weapons (especially with Chambers injured) and genuine try scorers because he made one mistake? You want us to go back to playing the type of hit up, hit up, hit up, hit up, hit up, Cronk kick type of football that lost us 6 in a row?

No I didn't say to drop him. I said if he isn't 100% confident now in the team then he shouldn't be playing. You brought up that the stupid bat back may be from confidence. I just think it's a stupid decision.

And it's not one mistake. He is good for at least one a game.

Storm have won the race to sign Lagi Setu who is coming back from his Mormon missions.

After two years away from the game, the 24-year-old felt the Storm offered a better opportunity to resurrect his career as they are losing back-rowers Sika Manu (Panthers), Todd Lowrie (Warriors) and Rory Kostjasyn (Cowboys) at the end of the season.
Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy and football manager Frank Ponissi plan to visit Setu next month in Birmingham before he finishes the two-year Mormon mission he began after leaving Brisbane at the end of the 2010 season.

The Storm have also signed Wests Tigers forward Junior Moors, whom, Ponissi said, would add depth to next season's squad.

Moors is a good signing. Tigers fans can't be impressed: they are losing their good forwards (Fifita, Gibbs, Moors, Ellis, Heightington), and just old stagers like Anasta coming to the club?

What I meant was that I think he is a shy Fijian kid playing in the big time and sometimes he might feel like he doesn't belong. You're a West Coast supporter? How would you feel walking into a team with the three best Eagles players in history? (let's say Jakovich, Matera and Judd - although I would throw Cousins and McKenna in there as well, with the current coach not far behind, but that's purely subjective) A bit overawed? A bit shy? Feeling like you need to 100% conform to doing the team thing rather than show your individual brilliance? That's how Sisa would feel. Billy, Cam and Coops are the equivalent of Jakovich, Matera and Judd.
I just feel that Sisa hasn't reached the stage yet where he feels like he 100% belongs in the company of the greatness that is our Big 3. It's nobody's fault. It's just human nature.
Go easy on the kid mate. He is a ripper. I am 100% stoked we have him.

Very happy with Jnr Moors signing, but it sounds like Setu will need to hurry up and get himself to Melbourne very quickly, riding a bike to keep fit is not an ideal way to ease back into a rugby league team. He won't know what hits him when he training begins under Bellyache.

Just on the subject of Mormon Missions and rugby league players, wasn't Izzy supposed to go on one of these Missions? Don't Mormons have to begin their missions before they turn 25?

Has been with us for 2 years so he should be comfortable. He is also 26 so not really a youngster.

I'm happy with him but I don't think he is our best option on the wing. But he has taken advantage of our injuries really well.

Izzy decided against it for financial reasons.

Will Storm vs Manly sell out or go close to it?

It bloody better be.

tbh that was pretty average effort and melbourne tend to put up with less rubbish then other clubs.

GA sold out yesterday and I've heard people wanting to know if more seats would be released for this section.
It would make more sense to me to fill the stadium if other seats were cheaper than turning these people away.
