We had as bad a season as we could possibly have and still managed 8.5 wins. We won't be bottom 4 next year, I think we will finish anywhere from 6-10. Hoping for top 8.

I think he was referring to how schizophrenic your season was. Massive winning margin, massive losing margin.

I agree with most here. Top 4 heavyweights imo will be Hawthorn, Collingwood, Geelong and Carlton. Hawks and Pies will come back with a vengeance, especially Hawthorn, that team scares me. We might see a slight drop off in wins to Geelong due to their older players declining and getting as much rest as possible during the season.

Carlton, i believe, has a shot to win it next year. A young list that will continue to improve. The only guy i can see having a slight drop off in production is Scotland. But the rest are either under 25 or in their prime.

And our 2010 season was an opposite really, we had very promising performances against top 8 and top 4 teams with an equally young side.

See where I'm going?

1 - Hawthorn - some bias maybe, but I suspect they are raging after the manner in which they left the finals. A healthy list (Roughead is walking without crutches now, which is encouraging) is a very strong one.
2 - Collingwood - slight drop off while changing coaches, but it will barely be noticable. Still a very strong club, and will definitely be challenging.
3 - Carlton - Powerhouse midfield and, with Jameison back, a strong and capable backline. If Waite can stay fit it will be huge for them.
4 - Essendon - Calling it, come at me. Need Hocking, Watson and Lonergan to stay fit. Looking good in both defence and attack, though I'm not sure how deep the list goes.
5 - Geelong - Amazing year this year, and will probably leave me with egg on my face. Retirements from Ling, Milburn, Mooney, etc will only create opportunities for others.
6 - Fremantle - Surely they can't have a year of injuries like this one again? Lyon is an astute coach and should return Fremantle to the finals.
7 - West Coast - May well prove me wrong, and they were outstanding this year. Watch out if Kerr plays 22 games.
8 - North Melbourne - Natural progression from their youngsters should see North return to the finals.

9 - Richmond - For teh lulz. Should improve, the Martin / Cotchin midfield duo is one of my favorites.
10 - Sydney - Not tipping them to have a particularly bad year, but I just don't think the top end quality of their squad goes as deep as others. Goodes has bee incredibly durable over the journey, and Sydney wouldn't want anything to happen to him. Mumford is a beast in the ruck, and Reid is the type of player you can build a team around.
11 - Adelaide - Their team is better than where they finished this year, but teething under a new coach, plus a couple of off-season departures, could halt their development for a year.
12 - Melbourne - Still a couple of holes in the team. Need a big, strong target in the forward line. Needs Rivers to stay fit. Probably need someone to give Jamar a chop-out in the rucks. And definitely need a couple of quality on-ballers. Hope Watts can go big this year
13 - Brisbane - Their midfield is going to be something delicious in a couple of years. Redden, Rockliff, Rich and Leuenberger is going to be as good a starting 4 as you could ask. Getting their bookends in Brown and Merrett back from injury should see them improve on this year.
14 - St Kilda - If their salary cap issues are as bad as they are reported, the Saints could slide quickly. Probably won't finish here as there is still a lot of quality on their list, but any unrest (as shown this season) plus an unfamiliar system from a new coach, could trigger a slide.
15 - Bulldogs - Sadly haven't been able to pinch a flag over the last few years, and I suspect it is only going to get worse for the Doggies before it gets better
16 - Gold Coast - Should show some improvement on this year with their kids now having a year of AFL under their belts, and another pre-season. Would expect somewhere around 5-7 wins
17 - GWS - First year. Expect 1-3 wins, a %age of about 55.
18 - Port Adelaide - I really can't find a lot of nice things to say about Port, so I'll leave it as the less said the better.

1. Hawthorn
2. Collingwood
3. Carlton
4. Geelong
5. Fremantle

11. Melbourne
12. St Kilda
13. Brisbane
14. West Coast
15. Gold Coast
16. Port Adelaide
17. Western Bulldogs
18. GWS

The best so far bar two exceptions. Hawthorn won't finish on top and West Coast will finish in the eight.
