Don't be too adventurous.

History shows there isn't going to be many changes to the top 4 and top 8

The Blues slide into the top 4 at the Eagles expense

The Demons and Dockers move into the 8 at the Bombers and Saints expense

The Demons making the 8 isn't a popular opinion. I'm going out on a limb on that one

Not pumping up my own team either

Ah surprised to see people putting the saints in the bottom half, around position 12...

We didn't loose really any of our "core" players which are fine for a fair few more years and afaik were recruiting middle aged recruits to fill some holes.

I don't see how Adelaide, North Melbourne, Melbourne, Brisbane, Bulldogs etc would finish above us, unless this is due to a new coach/gameplan and not necessarily players?

Doesn't matter anyway, interesting though, I'd prefer to be the underdogs :)

1 Hawthorn - Roughead back will be huge. 2008 was unexpected, this is the time they were meant to peak.
2 Collingwood - Tough draw, but still too even and have too deep a list
3 Geelong - Lots of good kids to fill the void, amazing off-field culture
4 Sydney - Always a surprise top 4, 2nd year for horse, good kids, culture of success
5 Carlton - Don't see them continuing to evolve and improve, still too many gaps to be a challenger, lack the evenness and depth of teams above
6 North Melbourne - Lost lost of close ones last year, good draw, need kpp kids to stand up though
7 West Coast - Consolidation year, had a good run last year, Woosha is a gun
8 St Kilda - Can't write off a team with Riewoldt, Dal Santo, Hayes, Fisher. Not much underneath though. A desperately needed new voice, more freedom.

9 Freo - Don't believe Lyon is the saviour everyone thinks he is, should have won a flag at the saints, no guarantees Sandilands will be over his injuries
10 Essendon - Could finish anywhere between 6th and here, will be a good side, iffy draw
11 Richmond - like their list more than Essendon's, North's and Melb's. Vickery to be a star by season's end. Very impressed by Hardwick as a coach
12 Adelaide - Strong club, like st kilda will relish greater freedom under a less draconian coach
13 Melbourne - Year of turmoil cant be forgotten so quickly, new coach, weak culture
14 Brisbane Lions - Very good midfield coming through, voss starting to earn his stripes
15 Gold Coast - Scarily good kids. We forget they had just a couple of months to train before season 2011, will be much better for a second pre-season together. Will have some decent wins
16 Western Bulldogs - Missed their shot, too old, injury prone a-graders, new coach, tough draw
17 Port Adelaide - GC and GWS are over-shadowing how terrible this side is, worst established side since Fitzroy 96
18 Greater Western Sydney - Will beat Port once, less experience than GC this year. There will be blood

This is the correct 2012 ladder. I've checked.

I forgot about Freo so I put them in there and had to make up a quote to go with it.

But I stick with it.

Don't take it personally

I really think the Saints will be ok and think the swans may struggle

And why might that be?

Haha Geelong haven't even been close to finishing outside the top 2 for 6 years and we aren't even going to make the top four now. I hope the bookies think the same as you guys as there will be more money to be made off this team yet. Yes we probably won't go as well as this year but there is a massive massive gap between where we finished this year and fifth. The only games we lost this year were after our finals position was assured and we were preparing for finals. That seems to be lost on most.

As for Hawthorn finishing on top, rofl. No key defenders, no ruckman, 1 paced midfield with little depth and no decent medium sized forwards unless the Gunston pick turns up a winner. But with a name like Gunston that seems unlikely :D. If they win the premiership it will be the worst premiership team since Collingwood 1990 or Essendon 1993 (depending on which one of those was the worst). Grandfinal will most likely be out of Collingwood and Geelong again. An injury free Fremantle under Lyon is the most likely challenger to those two. West Coast and St Kilda the possible wild cards. Can't see anyone else challenging.
