Thread should be called "how to troll Richmond in 2012":D

Awful lot of opposition supporters starting to wear the famous Richmond chip on the shoulders.

I expect the Bay to be full of Richmond hate like the good ole days next year.

Who knows, the media might join ya.

Famous chip?? Bay 13 returning to the good old days?

I'm 30 and I've never really considered Richmond relevant.

I have no strong feelings either way towards them, aside from being a huge fan of the 'cho. I know no big Rich fans my age. They have not been strong since i was a baby.

The comments about finishing 9th are not made out of jealousy, its derision.

On topic I cant disagree with most opinions on the 2012 Tigers. Will be in the hunt for the 8, 8th to 12th for me.

It's gonna be the year of the Hawk IMO.

Just about spot on I reckon gopower, although I am not at all convinced about Melbourne rising. 8th spot can go to the club that has the least injuries and the softest draw from 8th-14th on your list.

Lol, Richmond could miss the finals for the next 50 years and they'd still be more relevant than Hawthorn. The reality is Richmond is a massive club traditionally, and Hawthorn is just riding a wave of success with all their bandwagon members who only attend games if their club is in the top 8.

Once you start to slip down the ladder expect everyone to drop off. Again..

We haven't played finals since 2001 and we still outdrew you this year.

I know no big Rich fans my age.

You must not know many people, either that or you don't get out much?

Some of the comments on Lyon and how he will bring a style that is not suited to Freo or Subiaco ... over the last few years his teams have come over and smashed us at Subi, playing a brand of football that worked a treat on Subiaco Oval. So it is a bit clueless to think he can't conjure a decent gameplan for our home ground. Plus he knows how to play Melbourne grounds.

We might not rocket up the ladder, but people are a bit off the mark to suggest that would be because of Lyon and some unsuitable gameplan. It will come down more to the quality of players we can get out on the field. Get our best side out there for most of the year, and I would be very disappointed if Lyon can't get us into the finals.

18 GWS

Nab Cup - Irrelevant to the season
Premiers - Geelong runners up Hawthorn
Brownlow - Mitchell
Coleman- Buddy

lol, where are the Lions?

1. Hawthorn (Same thing, going to be amazing in 2012)
2. Collingwood (Will come out hungry after yesterdays defeat but not sure about #1 spot especially with new coach)
3. West Coast (Stars rising and not far away from another flag)
4. Carlton (As much as i hate to say it they'll make the top 4 next year)
5. Geelong (A few retirements at the end of this year, will still be up there)
6. Fremantle (Provided they don't have another injury year from hell)
7. North Melbourne (Needs to get more out of it's young stars but if it does then top 8 a certainty)
8. Sydney (Will just make it)
9. Essendon (Needs more to get to the top 8. Will just miss out)
10. Adelaide (They have a decent list but for now it's just 10)
11. Richmond (Not next year. Not the year after. Not the year after that. But maybe then)
12. Melbourne (Provided Mark Neeld makes an impact)
13. Gold Coast (Will take all of 2011's experience and have a blast)
14. Brisbane (Voss is a dud)
15. St.Kilda (No, too many recycled and aging players, unless they do a complete rebuild)
16. Western Bulldogs (Their list is bland)
17. Port Adelaide (Just lol)
18. Greater Western Sydney (Will be even more lol, not as many stars in this draft)

Grand Final = Collingwood vs Hawthorn
NAB Cup = West Coast (Yes! Heaps of young stars)
Premiers = Hawthorn (They have what it takes to get over the line and Nathan Buckley is inexperienced)
Coleman Medal = Travis Cloke / Buddy Franklin (Not too sure at the moment, Cloke has the ability but buddy is a freak!)
Brownlow Medal = Chris Judd / Gary Ablett / Dane Swan (Pick one)

lol, made me crack up for sure. We'll see what Bucks does with your team :p

1. Geelong - Just cant see them declining, will finish in the Top 4.
2. Hawthorn - I rate them, but not sure if they will finish this high. 2-6 imo.
3. Collingwood - Will be towards, if not top again. Wont win the Grand Final.
4. Carlton - Another strong year from Carlton, wont make an impact come Finals.
5. Sydney - Constancy from Sydney gets them finishing in the Top 8.
6. North Melbourne - Will finish between 6th and 14th.
7. West Coast - Relies upon Cox, but with NicNat coming through shouldn't drop off after this year.
8. Fremantle - Sandilands may struggle, but I feel that they have enough coverage to just make the 8.

9. Melbourne - Just miss out again.
10. Essendon - Cant see them making the finals, just dont rate them.
11. Richmond - Similar to Melbourne but will only just miss out on the 8, with a Game or Two separating 8th and 11th.
12. Bulldogs - The Bulldogs round off the rest of the 12th-17th who I cant see making an impact in the 8 though if any of them were to - it would be the Bulldogs.
13. Port Adelaide - Will improve slightly compared to last year with a couple more wins. Need a couple more years to show anything like a Top 8 side though.
14. Adelaide - On a similar level to Port, but Adelaide teams should be decent in a few years time, give Sanderson a couple of years to develop their list.
15. Gold Coast - Improvers from this year, with a couple more wins on the board.
16. Brisbane - Just cant see what they are building to be honest.
17. St Kilda - Really dont rate them, certainties to not make the 8.
18. Greater Western Sydney - Lock in.

Premiers: Geelong
NAB Cup: Hawthorn
Grand Finalists: Geelong/Hawthorn
Brownlow: Adam Goodes
Coleman: Buddy Franklin

Could say the same for Port. Is that even a football club, getting thashed everywhere they go?

Be more offended, BrisbaneLions9636.

Just about spot on I reckon gopower, although I am not at all convinced about Melbourne rising.

I wasn't convinced on anyone below 7th rising actually, other than Brisbane, but I don't think they'll rise enough to make the 8 yet. I just gave it to Melbourne because I think finally having a key forward might help them, but like you said it could be anyone from 8th-14th.

This is the thing, 8-14th is be incredibly hard to predict.

So many teams in a similar stage of development.

All a guess, of course, but I think it's all broadly right, +- 3 places. Which means that yes, the Dogs could make the finals... ;)

1 - Hawthorn (Seems to be the team to be at the moment, and was very close to making a GF without the bulk of their first team spine)

2 - Collingwood (Still an amazing list, and they will still be dominant over the course of the season despite the coaching change)

3 - Geelong (The start of the eventual decline, but it won't be a huge step. Still have a quality list and should still look flag contenders until the end)

---------------------------

4 - Sydney (A bit of blind faith, but I believe with a functioning forward line this team can really go places. If Reid and Goodes combine for 80 goals we should be looking very good)

5 - Carlton (Probably would have them as fourth but for some bias. They have an exciting list and of the teams 4-8 from last year they have the best chance of making the GF)

6 - West Coast (Will still win a heap of games at Subiaco, but their run last year was can be partially attributed to an easy draw and a magical run with injuries)

---------------------------

7 - Fremantle (Ross Lyon will have this team living up to it's potential in patches next year but I'm not sure they can make the jump straight into the top four)

8 - Essendon (Best of the rest quite simply put, really not sure that they are better than any of the teams above them but should be good enough to dispose of the teams below them. This years' marking stick.)

---------------------------

9 - North Melbourne (I think they have a good list, but once again wasn't sold on them being any better than the teams above them. Will definitely make the finals in 2013 though, and you could probably swap Fremantle with them as well.)

10 - Richmond (I think things are finally looking up for them, but like this year the consistency required to make the top eight will in the end find them wanting. Another team who will charge up in 2013 though, just not quite yet.)

11 - St. Kilda (A team on the decline but still with enough quality to be nowhere near the bottom four. It will be a year of mediocrity for the Saints this year, and Watters has a big job ahead of him.)

12 - Melbourne (Will struggle for a big patch of the season with a much harder draw than what they had this year. Can see them starting of well but fading after round five or so and another finish around the 12th mark given how close the teams are in this range is likely.)

13 - Brisbane (Honestly think they are in a great position for the next five years with their midfield but they lack a real successor for Brown in the long term and a foil for him in the short. Their backline is also a huge worry and I can definitely see them taking Matthew Buntine if he falls to them. Will be very competitive though, and will make a few upsets over the course of the year.)

---------------------------
14 - Gold Coast (Will improve in leaps and bounds this year with the natural progression of their immensely talented young group of players. Should win around five games and show how good they will be in the future.)

15 - Adelaide (Honestly have no idea where to put them but I settled on here as a somewhat appropriate spot. Could easily fit in with the teams around Melbourne and Brisbane but I think their lack of any real depth is very worrying. Still unsure about how their backline will hold up as well, looks paper thin in terms of size.

16 - Port Adelaide (It won't be all doom and gloom this year for them in my opinion. Have a promising list with some quality players. A couple of years of high draft picks will see them rise back up the ladder in two or so years time)

17 - Western Bulldogs (Need to rebuild big time. Have just zero depth and are completely reliant on their older players to win them games. McCartney has a massive job ahead of him and I honestly see him struggling big time.)

---------------------------
18 - Greater Western Sydney (Will be in a class of their own this year and might not even win any games. This won't really bother them aside from the mass of negative media directed towards them and the very big chance of sub standard crowds. Is really just a development year for them and they are still looking very good for the future.)

Rip it to shreds.
