He was close to an automatic selection at bargain price, but it's a ballsy selection at 200K. Can't see many picking him ...

At that price you're looking for a cheap keeper, which is possible with their soft draw.

Do people see Lake as an auto selection, with a decent pre-season?

Yeh Lake auto selection if he gets through pre season 100% and says he is is great nick injury wise. Hes sort of a lock if he gets through PS for me.

Gee Porpz price hurts, but im happy. I know someone wont be (Borrat). Im not too fussed i was struggling to only pick 4 rookie mids. Clifton being a forward evens at Porpz being 200K+.

Some ripping rookie picks, so many mature agers and players picked for specific roles.

Horsley, Miles, Shiel, James Macdonald hard to pass on as mid rookies. Than you have Zorko, Clifton as C/F types who are mature agers. Lee for dons looks a likely scorer maybe more a downgrade option, should sit around the 22-26 mark at essendon but will be performing week in week out in the 2's. So hopefully he starts playing a little later on. Tom Mitchell is a gun and gun accumulator but i think they will go easy with his injury worries in the past 2 years. Guys like Wingard, Coniglio, Greene have to be considered even at their prices. You have Morabito available. Cat fans are calling for Hogan to play the Cameron Ling role. Taylor adams will play and is also a C/F. Sam Gibson mature aged accumulator, Cal Bartlett considered one of the best in his draft year (injury the only reason he went in the 20's) apparently going well in PS so far. Pfeiffer mature aged C/F. Luke Brown, Grigg should play for the crows. Treloard, Its just ridiculos i could continue to carry on.

The new team coming in, the increasing number of mature aged rookies lends itself more than ever to a rookie styled team.

My structure for 2012:

Defence:
Gun/Lock x 4, 1 x mid, 4 x rooks
Mids:
Gun/Lock x 4, 4 x rooks
Rucks:
Gun/Lock x 2, 2 x rooks
Fwds:
Premium x 1, 5 x Not-so-sure-if-premium, 3 x rooks

Rooks - will watch preseason

Gun/Locks - basically pick about 11-12 guys from a pool of about 30 (who are all obvious to everyone). Judge preseason fitness and preseason form. Don't care what they score in the NAB beyond looking fit and running around in their appropriate positions.

Fwd premium and 5 x Not-so-sure-ifs to be based on structure around bye clashes and where I see some significant ppg improvement. Minimum 10+ ppg else I will pass. Don't care too much as the high volatility of fwd premiums means this is where I can sacrifice "gun on paper" vs. "potential".

IF (big IF) any obvious midpricers pop up in the preseason this would obviously impact my structure drastically and involve shifting a premium/gun/lock/rook around to accomodate. E.g. a lake or porps or gaff type. (though of those 3 I'm not too interested just giving you an idea of who I mean by a midpricer)

Tooooo busy with real life/work to bother taking this year too seriously so I'll pick some extremely risky guys and see how it goes. Probably going to be my best year yet and I'll probably be stuck in Dubai airport checking FF to make sure I've got the right bubbleboys. :D

You would have been just about on your own, not considering Porplyzia at base price. Saad costs more because he is technically is a mature age rookie, which means a slight premium on his starting price. Though they're only 9 days apart at 22 years old, so they should both have that premium pricing.

Age doesnt have anything to do with it

I think they are trying to determine their worth regarding the pick that was off loaded for Saad and T.Miliera compared to Zorko.

Round 11 Absentees: 10 players including 4 guns
Round 12 Absentees: 9 players including 6 guns
Round 13 Absentees: 11 players including 7 guns

The team selected should allow me to trade out a rookie in both round 12 and round 13 and bring in a gun with no more byes left in each round. Prepared to cop only one doughnut in rounds 12 and 13. None in round 11.

Still unsure whether on: Beau Wilkes, Dane Zorko, Shane Mumford, Matthew Luenberger, Patrick Dangerfield and Jeremy Cameron.

Possible minor changes depending on what is seen through the NAB cup.

Not a bad side mate. Whats your reasoning for Ryder? He'll be fairly unique I'd imagine. Do you see his role changing at all or backing him in to score well as a forward?
