From West Coast Eagles, Murray Newman will be a chance.

As long a he gets a good preseason and is injury free, I expect him to play alot of footy next year, like Jack Darling did this year.

He is the small crumbing foward WCE has been begging for, and has been earmarked for early footy.

So if he starts well may hold his spot for the whole season.

I doubt Mitchell will play enough senior footy next year to be in contention to take out the award. He's missed a lot of footy through injury over the past two seasons and I think the Swans will want to give him a chance to get his body right before throwing him in the deep end.

Also, he's come to a club which isn't exactly short of mature inside players. Opportunities will open up over the next couple of years, but in the short term he is competing with O'Keefe, Bolton, Goodes and McVeigh from the mature group, established mid aged players like Jack, Bird and Kennedy, plus other young players like Luke Parker.

In contrast, the likes of Coniglio and Shiels are pretty much guaranteed to play 20 or so games, so long as they don't get injured.

You'd think Coniglio would be favourite. He's had 2 years playing against men in the WAFL and would be the best prepared of every other draftee to come straight into the AFL and perform.

Maybe the GC has a 2nd year player that hasn't played 10 games yet that might be a better bet.

Reckon Coniglio is a very good chance. Maybe he will suffer from the same high outsider expectations that Swallow did last year in that he had a very solid season which most midfielders of any age would be happy with, but since he was so expected to dominate by everyone nobody really spoke of him.

Chad Wingard is my tip. If his body holds up, he should spend most of next year in Port's midfield. It'd be nice to see a list of eligible players though.

Tom Mitchell if he plays enough games.

Tyson, Patton and Coniglio are the only two capable of winning it from
GWS. But GWS will be well short of competitive and they will probably fall short like Swallow.

Lycett (depending on his progression), Butcher.

Caddy fom GC.

Need a full list of eligible players.
