Just because he's gonna score good in round 1 is that a valid reason to get him? It's a marathon not a sprint

Goodes will maul GWS in the opening game.
I think a score of 140+ may be on the cards TBH.
He is a must have IMO.
Agree with this, getting off to a good start is very important and Goodes will smash it. On that note it's worth having a look at Buddy's record against some of the opposition teams he comes up against in the first few rounds...
I was very keen to get Dangerfield until I read his SC score from the weekend on the herald sun website—80 from 25 possessions doesn’t seem to bode well. Now I think I'll scrap him for a rookie. Anyone want to convince me otherwise?

swap him for sidebum or JRoo or a rookie - no danger should be the policy (he just burns me every year)
Dropped goodes for n.riewoldt last night. Can see goodes declining and riewoldt with the easy draw and new coach should do alright?
dangerfield averaged 95.4 from 7 adelaide wins in 2011. (but 73 or so in their 15 losses) nab cup is a dodgy indicater for club form (who know's who is coasting, right?), but if adelaide continue their pre-season form and win more games, perhaps dangerfield might flourish a bit more? but the 80 from 25 possessions does ring a few alarm bells. lol
to be honest i think when he was averaging over 110 a game was quite conducive as to how st kilda played at the time. under a new coach they will probably adopt a different style of play which might not necessarily mean hitting up riewoldt every time they go forward. personally, i think the days of him averaging 110+ are well and truly over.
ATM my fwd line looks like
Franklin/Rioli/Cloke/Sidebottom/Goodes/Hawkins/Crozier with Pfieffer and Ugle on the bench.
Any tips about swaps or upgrades?

Anyone else thinking of starting both porplyzia and Dangerfield in the forward line or is that too risky??
I've had Goodes locked from the strat. But am having doubts. He seems to take it easy when the swans are winning easily, and has a well documented history of scoring better in the second half of the season. He also lifts for the bigger games against better teams. With the swans easy first half who's to say he won't continue this trend. Coach could rest him up forward alot to give guys like Jetta and Parker more mid time or he could even get alot of bench time. I'm worried. A big score against GWS is by no means a certainty.
I automatically put Dangerfield in due to the fact he will be in the middle this year.... but why did he only get 80 for 25 touches?? clangers?? not enough tackles or???
My FWD line so far..
FRANKLIN, SIDEBOTTOM, DANGERFIELD, HALE, PORPLYZIA, ZORCO, SMEDTS, KENNEDY...
I have room for 1 more premium FWD...I cant decide between:
CLOKE
GOODES
PAVLICH
DUSTIN MARTIN
ZAHARAKIS
Any suggestion would be much appreciated![]()
