Thoughts on John Butcher? Think Port will improve this year and he'll be their main target up forward. Worth taking or better off saving the money on a rookie?

Tall forwards don't tend to score that well. Probably better to pick a rookie

Chappy & PAV - good points of difference, chappy if he ever gets fully fit is amazing (allegedly a great pre-season but who hasnt) and if Pav was a victorian he'd be in every team. Cloke will be too busy counting his $5 bills that GWS mail down every 2 minutes

Cheers bud, i'm just a little worried that Chappy will be spending less time in the middle this year. With the emergence of some of our younger guys, and his age, he may see alot more time playing forward than in previous years.

Anyone going to be carrying Gray on the bench for the first round? I was really set on him and if I trade him out now it throws my structure out the window. Hamstring tightness is ringing alarm bells though.

I suppose, I just don't have that much faith in Zaha. He'll be solid but I see him as an 80-90 player, Gray a 95-105. I think Gray will be a much better scorer if (and big if) his hamstrings don't give. That spot will be either Gray or Chappy but Chappy will require a downgrade....Goddammit.

But forward/midfielder Robbie Gray will miss the start of the Power’s season because of hamstring tightness.

Start of the season could mean 2-3 weeks potentially....

Thankyou. On the strength of that I replaced Buddy and Martin (tough early draw too) and a rookie and replaced them with Chad Cornes , Chappy and Stevie J.

^ how do you work franklin into your team as early as rd 6-7? don't think he'll drop that much in price and the rookies won't have made enough to do it in 2 trades? just a rough guess though.

Luckily I had yesterday off work and had time to have a good look. Sanity prevailed. Buddy back in and Stevie J out. I've still got The Chad and Chappy though.

nice one. it's early days yet, but the some of the rookies don't look like making a lot of money early, so i'd say it would have been nigh-on-impossible getting him in that early. chappy will be good.

What are peoples thoughts on Tippet? Can he maintain his form? He has had some fairly easy games, but still went large against the Hawks.

Basically the question is, will he be able to average 100 plus for the rest of the season, or is he going to drop off?

Hawks don't have a big defender to match up on him and nor do they have a true ruckman who can drop back in space to plug the hole Tippet used to get his score vs them.

The Crows have Port, Swans (in Sydney), the Cats (where he's likely to be up against Scarlet), the Blues, the Pies and Freo away leading in to the bye.

I think he could be a POD at the very end of the season when the Crows have quite an easy draw, but getting him in now is just asking for trouble given that draw and given the Hawks had no one to match up vs him yet these other teams above do.

Anyone considering O'Keefe (Unique pick) or Rioli. Both dropped big time in price along with Stevie J. Im tempted by O'Keefe considering his price and his scores last year. Had no pre season so will only get better week by week from here.

He has a very promising start in the game against the hawks but still couldn't crack the tonne... I was considering him but think there are better options around his price range...
