Would like to get peoples thoughts on Jack Redpath from the western bulldogs? could be a likely starter due to bulldogs lack of big forwards?

does anyone think that tommy walsh will get much of a go this year at the swans?
Considering Reid had 15 people hanging off him every time he went up for a mark last year I would say Tommy has been brought in for a very specific purpose (take some attention off Reid) and will play a fair bit. We gave up a fair bit and worked very methodically to get the men we wanted in Morton, Armstrong & Walsh. We targeted them for a reason and to help team balance. Not playing them would negate this point all together thus I expect them all to be regulars by mid-season at the latest.

i will make this brief, gary rohan. is he worth the price of 293k? will he get a regular spot and if so, how well will he go? looks tempting, but need assistance.

Morning all. Happy new year and all that stuff:thumbsu::)

Would like some thoughts on two pies players, Sidebottom and Beams.

Beams is worth more but I am expecting Sidebottom to come out soon and go BANG!!!!

Would love some feedback on these two please.

Doesn't seem to be much love for Jordan Lewis. He has well and truly earned a starting midfield place at Hawthorn now. I can't see him averaging less than 100 this year. We are all clamouring to get Martin in there but I think Lewis presents real value.

Unsure which way to go with forwards this year. Do I go with the forward line staples that clunk em up forward anf get the goals in:

Buddy, Hurley, Reiwoldt N & J, Brown, Goodes Pav Cloke

OR

Fyfe, Martin, Chappy, Zaka, Sideass, Harvey, Beams, Danger

With the later focusing on the dual positions but get much more midfield time and in theory more scoring potential.

Have mixed it up so far but am leaning towards the dual positions at the moment.

Thoughts?

At the moment I've got Lewis in my team and I agree that he could average 100 points. Although his scores could be up and down depending on the role Clarkson asks of him from week to week. It is also likely that he'll miss at least a couple of games through suspension.

A lot of coaches might not put him in there team due to the plethora of quality Hawks available around the ground. E.g. Buddy, Suckling, Birch, Hodge, Mitchell and Roughie once he is 100%.

I agree. Same value as Martin. Don't see either of them being >$550k players at teh end of the season.

He's averaged the same for the last 3 years. Is there a role change or something that indicates he's going to have a break out year?

He has been Hawthorn's everywhere man. He's played as a defensive forward, tagger, lead up forward, lost weight to play as a winger, even specialises as third man up.

I'm not privy to any inside info but after his finals efforts I reckon he's earned a settled, full time midfield role.

What are people's thoughts on Leigh Adams? Seems to have done alright the last couple of years.

Is anyone going with b. Harvey. North have a great draw
have had boomer previously but not this year.

i currently have Johnno Brown but can afford Jack Watts, can anyone make acase for Jack Watts? reckon he would be a good P.O.D

Anyone considering Hawkins as a bolter?

Let's face it, he tore it up in the finals and if he can carry that form he could be in the top 3 fwds by the end of the season. With his confidence high, it's looking more than likely he could be a real dominant fwd.

Yes, Tomahawk stepped up when it mattered but he is a big unit and I don't believe he can sustain that sort of form. He is more of a burst player and you will see good followed by bad; highs and slumps. I think there are better options.

Im curious to hear other peoples thoughts on gary too, had some injuries last year but still forced his way back into the side late. Have heard some whipers about him playing on a wing this year too. 293k looks like alot but hes the sort of player that could get up to that 100 point average if he gets a clear run at it. Thoughts?

Sidebottom is well and truly on my radar but need to see where Nafan plays him. If he frees him up he'll be in for sure.

This is actually the first year I am really considering second year players in SC.. the sub rule coming in last year has meant that a lot of first year guys who came on in the 3rd/4th quarter last year have averaged around 20-30ish ppg, keeping their prices sub $200K

what do you think about taking these type second years over nearly priced first years? in particular...

Jamie Cripps - 4 Games @ 30 ppg, $162K
Sam Day - 7 @ 34, $185K

Interesting observation. But unless you're really certain they'll go big, probably just better off going with a $100k rookie.

Anyone got any thoughts on Charlie Dixon? Big wraps on him last year and he showed a bit IMO btu never really blew up. Any inside info from GCS people would be good

If you consider the average minutes Cripps played per game, he's at quite a good price. Lyon used him almost exclusively as a sub player, but I'm not sure how Watters views him. From what I can gather, he is hinting towards a role off half-back, but I could be wrong.

If that's the case, I wouldn't imagine he'd be subbed too often, and will get some really decent points. Also, Cripps spent half the season tagging along with Lenny Hayes in the gym after his injury, so you know he's definitely going to be fit and firing.

If you're willing to take the risk (which is a pretty big one) and it pays off, it'll pay off well.

Not sure about him, he would need to double his output to make any difference, I wouldnt bother with him my self.

What do people think of robbie gray? very consistant and i think he will get better this season any thoughts?
