McEvoy & McIntosh

Potato.

Really, ask a question or comment about them rather than just posting players names :P

Leeks & Potato look like a good combo i think SOUPy.:p

Mummy V Sandi V Cox?

Pros & cons for all 3 I reckon.

Pros basically all 3 are big scorers.

Cons? Sandi's massive frame overcoming his foot probs. Plus Clarke & Griffen may be used a lot more, esp if nursing Sandi toward finals.

Cox, getting on in age & maybe Nic Nat taking some minutes away from him.

Mummy, potential visit to MRP for brain farts but likely to do majority of the ruckwork.

So far I have Mummy but what are others opinions?

EDIT: Soupy I know it's a rhetorical question.

Sandi and Mumford share a bye with Stephenson, so you'll probably end up with a donut starting that pair with the usual Stephenson/Giles bench pairing. Other than that I think it's going to be a toss-up between the three. I'm picking up Cox and Sandi at this stage.

Still questioning whether i've got the aggots to start with Leunberger. I reckon he's just about ready to average 100 +. Still have my doubts though. Otherwise a Goldstein/Mummy combo, as i'm a bit gunshy about Sandilands foot, and not sure that Dean Cox can repeat last years form.

Probably should mention, for me, I've already locked in Berger (for now) as my other prem, with the standard Giles & O.Steph as my bench.

Leunberger, Giles & Stephenson are basically lock-ins for me.
The toss-up for me is whether to play Mummy (or another prem) or play Giles as 2nd ruck until I trade-up and throw someone into R4 (say Rowe).

Really needs to go 110+ to match the likes of sandi/cox/mummy. otherwise you are losing 10-20 points each week.

That's assuming Cox can back it up again, Sandi doesn't break down with injury and Mumford doesn't have fun at the tribunal...

Leuenberger hasn't exactly had an injury free career either. I guess no matter who you pick there are going to be risks. At the start of last season you could have said Jolly was the most consistent ruck with playing a full season, we never really know what might happen. Personally however I'd say it's more likely Cox/Sandi will average 110+ than Leuenberger.

Leuenberger seems to be largely over his injuries, which is a plus. However (and this is the reason I won't be picking him up) bear in mind we recruited Ben Hudson and Billy Longer in the off-season. Both are genuine rucks and Kerr, our list manager, has gone on the record as stating Brisbane's preferred situation is two rucks playing 60/40 game time in the ruck. Last year Leuenberger was playing around 80-90% of game time in the ruck. If that situation eventuates, I'd hazard to say Leuenberger's average may actually drop this year. Big if though.

I was about to offer up Longer as a sub for the reasons stated above.

I'm looking towards Sandilands, Maric, Longer, Stephenson.

Mcintosh Is gonna be a big bargain so He's a lock for me, Sandilands would be my other choice, has the ability to do nothing and still end up with 130+ points.

went for Goldstein and Stephenson as my starters with Giles and Witts on the bench.
someone please give me their insight:
-Goldstein or Leuenberger?
-Is Jarrod Witts going to play much next year?
-Is Stephenson reliable as a starter, or should I go for Sam Jacobs instead?

It's your team, and you'd clearly know better than I, so please tell us all where he'll play. I can't see him getting a game, barring injury.

Thoughts on
Cox
Stephenson
Gilies
Rowe
There's 2 ruck combos I've seen:

Premium
Giles
Stephenson
Rowe

AND

Premium
Premium
Giles
Stephenson

As long as you're happy with your premium, and Cox is certainly a solid pick, you're fine. Just make sure that the savings from having only 1 premium ruck are used really well elsewhere in your team as you might be losing 30ppg in the ruck and you want to be gaining more than that elsewhere :)

Last year the scoring system seemed like it got a little tweak... and as a result ruckmen scored very well. Ruckmenonly had to turn up and get a few hit outs and they got 100.

Does anyone know if the scoring system has changed at all for this year?

I am banking on them tweaking it again to get the ruckmen back in line so I am going in with less value in the rucks

He'll start round 1, you don't pick a bloke who's about to turn 30 and not start him first up. How well he'll score is the question, but the JS is good.

Having said that Jacobs is safe as houses with Maric gone and has more exposed form, but really he's close to premium price whereas Stephenson is rookie price, apples and oranges that one comparison wise. Jacobs is a good option though.

Witts I'd say unlikely to play much.

Leunberger is a good option if he can stay durable.

I like Goldstein but it's hard to know whether he'll score as well without knowing how much time he'll spend fwd vs ruck with McIntosh back.

McIntosh's price is very attractive, but I just can't see how North can carry him in the forward line on an ongoing basis.

Goldstein is one of the premier players in the competition, but not as a forward.

Appreciate insights/thoughts from North fans.

Think it was more the sub rule, that meant rucks rested in the fwd line instead of the bench and took marks and kicked goals.

There was a points increase in the hitouts to advantage which resulted in the increase in rucks points, but yea sub rule also would have had small factor in it aswell.
