Anyone else thinking of going with Orren Stephenson as their 2nd ruck? Doesn't seem to be any other options at Geelong due to injury, so should get plenty of gametime. Will allow another premium mid or fwd/def in the starting line-up.

Pumpter you read my mind! I just came here to post the same thing. I've been tossing and turning over this - will get a better view next week. I think he might just get the nod over west in the ruck. With pods coming back slowly we might see west spend more time up forward. Having an extra premium in the midfield sets you up from the get go. Will need 100s from the Big O to consider it seriously.

Not a good buy I think - has averaged only 70 over his career. I think you'd get better value and equal if not better return from the of the older "rookies" and put the money elsewhere.

I woudn't be so sure about that. If Pods continues to have trouble with his shoulder then West will spend a lot more time up forward.

HMac kinda feels like Hille all over again, except without maybe the competition as number 1 ruck. Never quite a premium but solid enough.

With the plethora of premiums going around, i'd probably prefer to roll the dice with Giles/Stephenson instead and hope they can manage a 90-100 early and upgrade. That or go in with 2 'tear-a-game-apart' type rucks.

Correct, but with Simpson and Vardy on the injury list, Oren's JS is safe as houses early doors, and given West's ability around the ground, I'd expect them both to share the ruck/forward duties fairly close to 50-50, both should score fairly well.

Orren's an easy bench pick IMO.

In past years yes, this year I'd have to say no. Cox is mega expensive, Sandi's durability continues to be a concern. Could be the year for the up and comer, cue Burger, McEvoy and even Jacobs.

Wouldnt change Kreuzer for West, but if you can fit Mumford in go for it. If Mumford stays on the park he will just continue to improve.

So, injury/form aside, Rough should play 22 games you reckon?
Seen him play in a praccy at Footscray against the Tiges last year or maybe 2010 and was impressed with his agility and coordination - I rate him.

After see Giles play the other night ive decided im going to save a butt load of cash and take the risk of playing him as my 2nd ruck until he maxes out his cash then use him as a cash cow and upgrade to whoever is in good form at the time!

He may not rake in the massive scores but ill just hope i can make up the points difference elsewhere with the cash i save!

Yeah, last year i had Smith on the pine and honestly i only used him a few times when sandi or cox had thier byes, this year ill take Giles's cash and upgrade to a premium when his bye comes around!

Well thats the plan anyways, hopefully it works out!

wouldnt touch him. imo he hasnt secured the #1 ruck spot and will be competing with roughead all year. if he puts in a few bad games (which isnt out of the question) then the doggies would just give roughead a run and vice versa. better ruck options imo

Anyone considering Kreuzer and McIntosh?. Kreuzer I think (hope!) will stay in my team. McIntosh will make 100K and be upgraded when Cox or Sandilands get a little cheaper. It basically let's me run 4 premium guns back, mid and fwd.
