Has anyone had any confirmation of the club moves next year? Is Nambour definitely up and who are the alleged 3 new clubs?

Looking forward to shaming my family name for another year on the paddock in 2013!

I've heard robina have applied to come back WTF ?
I've heard bond uni and Carrara have applied to join Div 3 also.
I've heard Redcliffe declined the move up as did Logan.

Just to clarify none of that has been first hand from a decision maker but these rumours have been doing the rounds.
 
Morro - definately no truth in the robina rumour.

funnily enough first time on here post season as i heard a rumour yesterday i was going to put to another board - I heard Darryl White is signed, sealed and delivered at Cooly as playing coach and the coin is out to attract players. Heard it from a bloke who played their last year and that was the talk at the b&f.

Cheers mate, for the record that rumour came to us via a Pres of another club :confused: have to wonder how these rumours start?

I wonder if any of the above rumours are even close to true.

The last doozy i heard was Spider Everet was a major sponsor of Carrara ( I am led to believe this is actually true) however the spinner was he was going to play for them aswell in Div3 FFS???????????

hahaha gold coast footy circles - gotta love it!!

stranger things have happened - jade rawlings played for yeronga a cpl of years ago when he was assistant coach of the lions - im lead to believe spida was suppose to play a game for someone (possibly yeronga) this year as well - not sure if it happened.

surely caloundra will be 1 team to come back to div 3 - sounds like pine rivers were also going to lodge an application from what the guys were saying here. Cant see bond having the numbers to sustain 2 teams IMO.

wouldnt think any div 2 club would look to drop down - kedron would be my pick if there was someone tho.

Yep, big Spida played one game for Yeronga this year before our sportsmen's night. Quality bloke, quite funny. Not sure on the Carrara rumour though.
 
Richard Tambling offered to come and play a few games with us at Coomera.... We said sadly we couldn't find a spot for him in our Ressies....
 
I have heard Nambour are keen and the AFLQ are keen for Caboolture to go up more so beacause of their large investment into the new facilities. The mail is there will be no answer until EOM.

Nambour should go up, they have been the dominant team for the last 2 years. Even tho Redcliffe took out this years title, Caboolture should also go up with the new facilities they are going to have. Logan should also go up as they have been in the last 2 GF's

If 3 teams go up (Nambour, Cabo, Logan) who do you suggest comes into the comp?

Usually a big jump although, they had a bad run from all accounts not a complete 'folding' as their grand final results would dictate..Nambour would be a certainty to go up (although fitness, sorry neutral would need to improve) as would Caboolture (heavily invested facilities for a new AFL precinct) but rumor has it another will go up. Can't see Logan moving as a score could now be settled if player retention is a possibility. Redcliffe would be in the mix if they have the structures in place, but if Coomera had another season under their belt they would be a popular choice. This would open the door for pine rivers who I tip to be successful if they're elevated. Beenleigh are a chance of impacting the finals & maybe Ipswich could review their youth policy a little... Off seasons are too long, can't wait to kick a footy round again, who knows what division.

So if there are 3 sides to go up, and 3 come up, are you saying Div 2 will be a bigger comp? No teams to drop down from there? Uni are a sure thing to move up to PHC, but Cooly are rumoured to be moving down a Div. Interesting how many sides make up all comps from PHC all the way down.

I think the league structures will drift away from 'play each side twice, especially in Div 2 as there probably will be a large number of teams...good point Re: Uni going up, how many teams in div 2 in 2012?
 
I was told by an AFLQ contact that they are considering a structure that has more the 10 sides in a div that would see you play the local derby's more then once and travel to the far away teams only once. Sounds like a ****ing terrible idea if you ask me.
 
Oct 31 we will all find out whats going on, so until then all the rumours are a waste of time. Who know what AFLQ will come up with??

That's no fun. My 2 cents. Redcliffe, Caboolture and Nambour to go up into Div 2. They will be joined by Caloundra. Pine Rivers to join Div 3. Zillmere to join Div 4. All rumour of course, but there you have it.
 
I don't mind wasting a bit of time in the off-season, I think ur pretty much on the money Frazer, add Uni to go up
from Div 2 and "who knows" it could be close. Zillmere? I havent heard any news there

14 team Div 2 comp mate or you got some to drop down?

Frazer I dont think that many teams in a comp would work. AFLQ should have a relegation system, the 2 teams that play in the GF go up and the 2 bottom teams go down. Mind you that would only work up till div 3 as div 4 dont have reserves. Thats just my opinion.
 
I've heard that the Mt Tamborine Mountain Goats and Wooloongabba Wombats are going to be joining us. The Yatala Yetis don't have the numbers.
