Thanks Footy I hope you're right there although no offence to the Pine Rivers lads but I'd love to see 2 teams that haven't had a flag for a while (or ever) get in the GF. Bit of a football romantic like that (i think it stems from being a tigers supporter)!.Although I do expect the new Northerners to be there late in August and from my experience with meeting some of them after our final up there, they seem like a good group of blokes.

Yes Round 9 sounds like its worthy of a double header somewhere!! Battle for the Southern Shield perhaps?! Surely the Saints will roll out the welcoming mat and have the beers ice cold for their neighbours.

I feel for the Buffs getting the bye on the first week. Wait so long to get back out there and have the bye! Although I have a sneaky suspicion that they will enjoy being down at Logan watching the young Carrara boys get a baptism of fire from the Cobras. Especially as they have the Saints the following week.

Hope everyone survived training tonight without bringing up too much Christmas pudding!

I've stepped down from all duties in the club so I can spend more time watching games and actually getting employment. Chances are I'm going to float to different games this season between the four UQ teams.

As far as the teams for this year, who knows. The boys are back on track and getting ready so I have to say they'll be aiming high this year. As all teams at every club are. I look forward to seeing the season for all UQ teams

We will try and get on top of that before our first home game. Our siren ended up getting used the week after in the Redcliffe v Logan GF after the president got a phone call halfway through the reserves GF from someone at the ground.

Hopefully we get a bit of rain between now and round 9 so that Rob Akers will be pristine and live up to the hype you have created.

Yeah, I'd say that's a pretty fair estimate. I think if the 2's can grab a finals spot and the 1's have a few wins and are generally competitive it will be a very, very good result for the club in our first year up. Certainly something to build upon.

As for the real stuff here in Div 3 the 4's will obviously be looking to go back-to-back, and with a few of last year's top teams moving up hopefully the 3's can push into finals contention.

Oval 7 is looking great. No doubt UQ Sport will find a reason to close it down and cut off our access though...

Although I was told during our final last year v Ipswich that I bag everyone out on Big Footy and I went quiet the week we played them. I found that an interesting assessment. We did have plenty of time to talk though while I was keeping him goal less for the second time that year (alas they won the game though). That's about as much bagging as you'll get from me.
