Here's how I saw this game-
For Nambour-
Spring was very pacy, and gave Nambour good drive.
Stanley was solid, and the young bloke out on the wing, gave nambour forward line plenty of ball.
Nambour forward line was open .There was nowhere for the Cobs backmen to hide.
Plenty of space to lead into. But apart from the second quarter the Cobs backline dominated
Possum was his usual classy self, sure knows how to kick them. Haven't seen him play a bad one.
The Cobs Vice Capt was his opponent, and conceded Possum was the best opponent he's had to play on.
Number 5 for Nambour, don't worry about wearing that headband, mate.- we can still see your bald spot!.
He Tripped himself up, and the umpire gave him a free, which resulted in a goal.

Overheard the umpires adviser saying at half time-
"Your making a few mistakes guys! that free to number 5 for Nambour, was a result of him tripping himself up. Not good.."

For the Cobras-
Mill was double tagged, and still BOG. Say no more.
I heard and saw 3 morningside talent scouts, watching Mill, and a couple of others(prolly number 5 for nambour too:D ).
Rehn was pivotal. He controlled the ruck, and gave milligan lots of ball.
Richardson was inspirational, and gave the team grunt.
Old man time, AKA- Brooksy was ever reliable.
Maxwell carrying an injury, continues a good finals campaign.
And there were others too. I don't really know their names.

Full credit to both coaches, I expected Ben Stanley would line up at FF, and drag the Cobs fullback up the ground.
Instead, he played higher up, and pulled the coaching strings from there.
Accolades to Cobs coach Skidmore, a number of master strokes has put this team, in a better position than last years side.- Gotta be coach of the year. Heres why-

Cobs Full forward Fletcher. Last year Was a great linkman around midfield.
The Coach plants him at Full forward. WTF? Your kidding?
Nah.- he's kicked 60+ goals this season - masterstroke by the Cobs coach..

Now the A-train Flowers is a Great full forward.
Cobras Coach puts him round midfield for the season. WTF?- Masterstroke! .
In fact he was so good, the umps wanted to award b&f votes for the game, just so they could give him 3 votes.

Perovic,This bloke can play all over the ground. Gets shunted into Fullback pozzie.? WTF?- Your Kidding?.
No, sorry Morro, He's not wasted at all playing fullback. Thats where the team needs him most.
-Master stroke again, By the Coach!!!.And Who is this guy?- Matt skidmore.

Is this the bloke "Neutal observer" and some other bloke, lambasted earlier this year about can't coach or something?
I hear he's an awesome player And, making a comeback next season. No wonder Mills leaving.-Coz they only give one league B&F medallion out each year.
Hats off to coach Skidmore, a number of master strokes has put your team in a better position than last years side.- Gotta be coach of the year.

Finally, Im glad i didn't make a prediction this week, and just as well! I would have had egg on my face again.
Nambour were expected to hit back hard after last weeks loss, and they did. Full credit to both teams for having a good hard crack.Only problem was after a very good first half, Nambour were over run by Cobs.. their structured plan went out the door.
They were suddenly like gutted Garfish!Players panicked, and just kicked instinctively forward without looking.
Made it easy for the Cobs to close out the game, and clinch a 2 goal win.The Cobs didn't look like better footballers then the Blues, But me thinks their coach extracted best out of them.
Now Redcliffes win over Nambour was more comprehensive, But this game was sudden death, and the stakes were higher.
So,It will be a toss up next week.I guess it Depends on how many Cobs remember the gutted feeling of last years GF spanking.
And I always seem to pick the loser,
So I better do the Kiss of death and back Redcliffe to win the GF next week.

Is this the Sunday mail ? 1st great win by Logan and I said once they beat us I thought they could go on and win it. And I still agree I think they will. As for Richardson number 47 ? Surely ur kidding inspirational haha shocking footballer. All the people around me also agree and he's supposedly getting $$$ yeah rite. Brooksey is a gun and top bloke too.

what a shock the 2 teams that stacked there reserves made the gf...
I'd have to say as captain of a team that has played both teams they are worthy grand finalists. Look past quality of players and at why they are playing (training and retirement) and all Reserves sides have been legitimate. "Stacking" would be players with 12 seniors and 5 reserves games. Well done to both teams in my opinion.

Angry Mango - you are entitled to you review/comment but on this one you have the bull by the ****. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Coomera, Ipswich and UQ clubs have all abided the spirit of fair play. With very few exceptions the finals team are the fixture teams.
I am not sure if you have seen any of the fixture or finals games between any of these clubs (I have seen them all) but they have been hard yet fair. The standard is good but well below what you would expect in the event of wholesale stacking from the Seniors.
Both Swoopa and Mick Whitely as President of Ipswich are class acts - I for one have utmost respect for them. They are people who we should all look up to as providing real leadership in our great game. They make me proud to be associated with SEQFL football.

Should be a cracker of a game. A bit of feeling there between Ippy and UQ.

Thanks Oldman. I really think (as Obama said) that Mike showed true leadership on Saturday. Not many blokes would stand up for fairness with a GF birth on the line.

AFLQ, both Presidents and the umpires all handled a difficult situation well.

Hopefully Pine Rivers get a new siren by next year. Should be a good inclusion into our division!

In our defence, the siren has been working fine all year and our guys on the scoreboard heard it. The siren may not have been as loud as it has been in previous weeks but the timekeeper really should have held the button until one of the umpires reacted. At least one of the umpires must have heard something otherwise they wouldn't have consulted with the timekeeper before giving the all clear on that last goal (which was eventually revoked).

Yeah I suggested that they made sure they kept it down for longer. The fact that there was a lot of noise going on certainly wouldn't have helped!

I have to say that the ground and venue in itself is great. First time I've played there and I look forward to it next year!

Fair summary/novel of the game mate. What was said at half time to Logan? Did they make any key structural changes? Because they came out a different side after half time. We were expecting Nambour to run over the top of them even more, but it just didnt happen. Logan were pretty impressive for a club that gets very limited number to training. Where does their fitness come from??I thought number 12 for Logan was very damaging in the midfield as well. Also thought the big bald nutter for logan was going to lose it there for a while. If I was Redcliffe I would bait him next week. Good luck to both sides, I predict Logan to win by 5 goals and to get at least 15 to training this week

Banana - not sure about the comment from the umpires advisor? That was me and i can tell you i didn't say that to the 3 field umpires. IMO all 5 field umpires (reserves and seniors) were very good on the day and i agree the siren needed to be louder and it should sound until a field umpire acknowledges it.

Pies i can tell you Logan got a good old fashioned baking at half time from their coach.

Way to ruin a good story :thumbsu:

Haha Banana, cool story bro

Hopefully we can pull the numbers together to put our hand up for Div 3 next year, the volunteers have been working hard to get the club to a standard that would allow us to play in that comp.

Unfortunately, the ground isn't looking real flash with the lack of rain. I would imagine ours isn't the only one though.

Hey Moro, My memory might have been a bit off,I was on my 10th stubbie by half-time. I'd swear that' s what the advisor said. :D . I gotta get down there tomorrow night. I'm guessing they will have minimum 12 players at training .
I have no idea what was said at half time. Only players and staff were permitted inside. But, it obviously worked, mate.

Your 10th by half time? I'd be unconscious :thumbsu:

sorry oldman i must be wrong, it's just how it looks. Your 2's are guns but your seniors struggled and the eagles were pretty ordinary at the start of the year but come the second half of the year there team was totally different and started spanking everyone. Good luck on saturday.

Between Logan in the 1s and Ipswich in the Magoos, it could be a world record for a grandfinal where the players total number of teeth are less than the number of players participating. Hope there is a no glass policy this weekend, if these teams lose there could be glassings everywhere. Ps stay tuned for some news on recruiting at the mighty Roosters, it's going to be huge!

Who's urged source Hollywood?? I know a few a thaw roosters now and there keeping a lid on things !! Can u shed any light ?? Also Logan will win hands down I've seen them 3 times in 4 weeks and they look the goods to many avenues to goals sure shut Milligan down but then flowers runs riot good to see m Sinclair running around in the 1st were he should be playing all year any way . Also good to see Mitch vasterink last year's beenleigh ruck get selected as ruck in phc team of the year last night could seehI'm back in our die next year .

Just a thought about the Ipswich seniors reserves debate- Ipswich drew in the prelim with Coomera's reserves therefore doesnt that suggest that they are on par with the comp? Without taking anything away from our Ressies our seniors would win by 20 goals in a interclub game.. After speaking to the eagles guys on the weekend it seems a lot of the older blokes in the two's will finish up this year. What would be the point in investing time into the has beens when you have good kids to develop? Must say the improvement over 10 weeks they showed between when we played them was remarkable. We still won easy but they had a game plan that at in passages really worked for them.

I admit I criticised the move when I first heard of it but happy to say I was wrong. Look out in a couple of years if they can keep those boys together.

Hollywood and NP1 might have to kiss and make up :D

Logan cobras 1's and Ipswich ressies have won more games in the past 3 weeks, than The (mighty?;) ) Roosters have in the past 2 seasons. Mate ,Ippy reserves would beat yer 1's too. Were you mentally scarred by these guys in past contests.?

mate Moorooka actually won in our last clash 83 to 34 ( seniors), and were all over us. Are you saying our ressies would beat their seniors because our better players play ressies. I also think Hollywood is from beenleigh going by his posts throughout the year.

This was exactly what I said to one of their boys on Saturday. There weren't huge floggings in any top o the table clashes towards the end of the year.

In our first meeting with Ipswich I would say we were caught on the back foot an like I said to him I remember a skinny young defender winning best on ground at their awards.

I guarantee every club will go through the same situation in the future as the current generation age and have families. I will back any club that is challenged as I believe all was fair and above board this year. Blokes play games in Ressies here and there all year and sometimes you're unlucky enough to come up against a guy fighting to get back in seniors or heading to a wedding!
